Want to add real charm and personality to your bathroom? It all comes down to a few intentional choices. Here are my 5 tips for a renovation that feels considered:

1️⃣ Start with a clear concept — for this one, the whole vision was a private island escape, and every decision traced back to it.

2️⃣ Mix your materials & textures — Georgian floor tiles, subway shower walls, and a fully custom mosaic with banyodesign that transformed the entire shower.

3️⃣ Treat each wall differently — wallpaper, tile, and hygiene emulsion in one room, all feeling intentional.

4️⃣ Pick one palette and weave it through everything — emerald green softened with beige, tan, camel + brushed gold hardware from Utopia to tie it together.

5️⃣ Play with your lighting — wall lights, a pendant, backlit mirror, spotlights, cove lighting, and even built-in shower lighting. 💡

Designed as a true sanctuary for a client with a fast-paced lifestyle, every detail of this space was thoughtfully curated to create a sense of calm, comfort, and balance. Inspired by oriental and Japanese aesthetics, the design embraces simplicity, warmth, and timeless elegance.

From the custom headboard featuring rich velvet upholstery and textured stone detailing to the soft linen and cotton blackout curtains, every material was carefully selected to bring nature indoors and encourage complete relaxation. The result is a space that feels grounded, refined, and effortlessly peaceful—a retreat from the demands of everyday life.

Not every bathroom needs bold colours to make a statement. 🤍

When my client told me, “Lubaba, if you use any colour in this space, you’re out,” challenge accepted.
So instead of relying on colour, we brought warmth and depth through textures, rich wooden finishes, statement sanitary ware, and subtle detailing that gives this neutral bathroom its personality.

Proof that minimal doesn’t have to mean boring. ✨

Hey, I’m Lubaba Nadim, founder of The Home Company and we just wrapped up this beautiful renovation in Jumeirah Park. Let me show you what we created ✨

When my client first reached out, the goal was simple: make the space feel bigger, more open, and breathable.

So we started by completely lightening the colour palette and layering in subtle feature tones. The result? A space that feels brighter, more vibrant, and still full of character.

One of the quickest ways to transform any space is through colour. Lighter tones instantly open things up making everything feel grand and spacious. That’s why we replaced all the tiles with lighter finishes.

But we didn’t want it to feel flat so we added depth with a greenish-grey granite staircase and concealed lighting details.

Our feature colour is a soft pastel green and with the surrounding landscaping, it blends in beautifully, especially through the planters. It just feels fresh.

To balance it out, we brought in warmth through brown tones in the pergola, outdoor kitchen, and pool coping.

We also turned a long boundary wall into a statement feature using cement board, textured stone cladding, and subtle wall lighting.

And my personal favourite? The outdoor lounge pergola. The canvas ceiling softens the space, and the lighting completely transforms it at night.

This project proves you don’t need to overdo things simple, thoughtful choices can completely elevate your home.

For everyone else… welcome to a 13-hour workday in China 🇨🇳

After finalising the dining room and home cinema furniture, we moved on to one of the biggest scopes of this project: closets & bespoke cabinetry.

For this, we worked with James, whose company specialises in custom woodwork — kitchens, wardrobes, cabinets, and detailed joinery.
This project alone needs 6 bedroom closets and 2 walk-in wardrobes, each fully customised with internal accessories tailored to every family member’s lifestyle.

After a quick showroom walkthrough, James and I spent over 6 hours going deep into measurements, layouts, materials, finishes, and functionality.
It was long, detailed, and intense — but this is exactly where a project goes from good to exceptional.
