WPC Ceiling Cladding
WPC ceiling cladding (wood–plastic composite) is a ceiling finish made from a mix of wood fibers and plastic, designed to look like timber but perform more like a durable, low‑maintenance composite.
Key features
- **Material**: Blend of wood cellulose and thermoplastic polymers with additives, giving it the appearance of wood plus moisture and impact resistance of plastic.
- Durability: Resistant to humidity, warping, cracking, and rot, so it works for indoor areas and covered outdoor spaces like eaves and balconies.
- Low maintenance: Surfaces are usually PVC‑laminated or factory finished, so they are waterproof, dirt‑resistant, and need only occasional cleaning (no repainting like gypsum or timber).
- Thermal & acoustic comfort: Hollow‑core panels over a metal/wood framework add thermal insulation and some sound dampening between the structure and the room.
- Fire & pest resistance: Many products are fire‑retarded to around national B1 class and are termite- and insect‑resistant.
- Design options: Offered in multiple sizes, colors, wood‑grain textures, and patterns so you can match modern or traditional interiors and exterior soffits.
Typical uses (especially in UAE)
- Interior false ceilings in living rooms, corridors, and commercial spaces where you want a wood look without maintenance.
- Roof eaves, overhangs, and exterior soffit ceilings (common for villas in UAE, and Oman).
- Wall–ceiling combinations, feature ceilings in lobbies, cafes, or garden sitting areas.
Basic installation concept
- A metal or wooden framework is fixed to the structural slab or existing ceiling.
- WPC panels (often interlocking tongue‑and‑groove) are screwed or clipped to the framework, with concealed fasteners giving a seamless finish.
- Edge trims and corner profiles are added at the end for a clean look.
