To those new to karate, it simply describes a martial art without weapons.
To those who practice it, it asks a deeper question:

Here’s the second of my karate series cards! For me a karate Gi represents discipline, dedication, equality, tradition, personal growth and belonging. This is the reason for its simplicity…the power is in the image. To all you people out there who wear them, whether it be just for mobility, fitness, community, personal growth or competition…be proud!

I recently found inspiration in watercolour art, thanks to an Aquarell & Bossa event in Hohenems .austria and Pinterest! I decided to give a Karate style card a try…my husband being the biggest inspiration 🫶🏼 He had his 4. Dan examination and so I knew it had to be something special! I’ve now decided to create a whole karate themed series of cards…watch this space 😉

Danke an .austria für den tollen Abend in deinem Atelier am Freitag. Es hat mich sehr motiviert, und ich bin selbst sehr positiv von meinen eigenen Kunstwerken überrascht … Wahnsinn, was für einen Unterschied eine tolle Ambiente, die richtige Atmosphäre und ein bisschen Zeit ausmachen.
