Soldering is one of the fundamental techniques in jewellery making.

The goal isn’t to melt the silver itself — it’s to heat the joint evenly until the solder reaches its flowing temperature and is drawn into the seam, creating a strong and clean connection between the two pieces.

Good soldering comes down to preparation: clean surfaces, a tight-fitting joint, the right amount of flux, correct solder placement, and controlled heat.

Too much heat can distort the piece. Too little, and the solder won’t flow properly.

A small step in the process, but one that requires precision every time.

Post you working

Precision starts with the cut.

Sawing a series of parallel lines by hand looks simple, but keeping every line straight, evenly spaced and consistent takes patience and control.

No guides doing the work for you — just steady hands, a fine saw blade, and constant attention to spacing and depth.

It’s one of those small bench skills that quietly makes a huge difference to the final piece.

Some pieces are made.

Some pieces are built slowly, through hours of shaping, cutting, refining, correcting, polishing — until they become something far beyond the original idea.

This is one of those pieces، Every mark, every surface, every line was worked by hand.

This is without a doubt one of my favourite pieces I have ever created. One of those rare rings where the stone, the proportions, the details and the final finish all came together exactly the way I imagined.

I wanted the reveal to feel the same way the ring feels in person — slow, intense, and worth waiting for.

One piece.
Made by hand.
Made to exist only once.

Tiny details, darker contrast, stronger character.

Each bead around the crown is formed individually by hand using a beading tool — one by one, carefully spaced to create a clean belt-like border around the ring.

Once the beading is complete, the silver is blackened to push the contrast even further. The darkened recesses make every bead, line and detail stand out more clearly and give the ring a deeper, more aged and defined finish.

It’s a slow process, but this is where the small details begin to completely change the personality of the piece.

Not every ring needs a mirror shine.

For this stage, the surface is taken in the opposite direction — carefully creating a soft matte finish that removes the high reflection and gives the silver a more understated, refined character.

The texture helps bring out the form of the ring, softens the surface visually, and gives the piece a more solid, almost architectural feel.

Simple finish, completely different personality.

Tiny details make the biggest difference.

This border is created completely by hand, using a beading tool to form each individual bead around the crown of the ring — one by one, all the way around.

The goal is to keep the spacing, size and rhythm consistent so the finished pattern feels clean, balanced and almost like a fine belt wrapping around the setting.

It’s slow work and there’s nowhere to hide mistakes, but that’s exactly what makes details like this special.

Building the details one bead at a time.

Using a beading tool, each tiny bead is formed individually around the crown of the ring, creating a continuous belt-like border that frames the centre and gives the piece more depth, texture and character.

It’s slow, repetitive work, but precision matters here — every bead needs to sit cleanly beside the next so the pattern stays balanced all the way around.

A small detail, but one that completely changes the final look of the ring.

This is where the surface starts to come alive.

A silicone polishing wheel helps refine the metal after the heavier shaping stages — smoothing out the finer marks, cleaning the surface, and preparing the piece for that final mirror finish.

It looks simple, but this stage is all about control. Every pass matters. Too much pressure can soften the details, so the goal is to polish without losing the character and shape of the ring.

Slow work, small adjustments, and a finish getting better with every second.
