Today’s little Thermomix experiment… 🇫🇯🍯

I found a recipe online for Fijian Honey Cake that basically said “chuck everything in and mix until combined.”

Well… don’t mind if I do. 😂

About 30 seconds on speed 5, into the tin and bake.

Yep. It worked. And yum! 😋

Then came a request from the other half for a plain loaf for sandwiches.

Easy enough. Weigh everything in, knead for 6 minutes on Dough Mode, wrap and prove in the baking mat, shape, prove again in the tin and bake.

I used my rose gold loaf tin with the lid to get that lovely square block-loaf shape. Perfect for sandwiches. 🍞

And tonight?

We’re having crispy sticky sesame chicken with rice and veg. 😍

That one is being handed over to my Thermo husband… because we have reached the stage where he who who knows his way around the Thermomix enjoys creating fakeaways

I’m not complaining. 😂🙌

Cake. Bread. Dinner.

But yes… apparently it’s just a glorified blender. 😉

Yes… I do get the “glorified blender” comment sometimes. 😂

BUT… that’s usually before we get together and actually use it.

Because once you see it chopping, cooking, weighing, stirring, steaming, kneading… and generally doing its thing, the conversation tends to change to:

“OHHHH… now I get it!” 😂

And that’s why I love bringing my TM7 into people’s homes.

You can look at one all day, but actually using it is when it makes sense.

So… when can I bring mine to your place?

We’ll make something delicious, have a play and you can decide for yourself whether it really is just a blender. 😉

No hard sell. Just an OHHHH moment.

Dear Family,

We need to talk about Dad.

He has enough socks. 🧦
He has enough jocks.
He has enough BBQ gadgets to open his own Bunnings aisle. 😂

So please… nobody buy Dad another bloody mug.

This year, let’s give him something he’ll actually use.
