Calling all Wagyu lovers! A new Yakiniku experience is hitting the Gold Coast.

At Chubby Wagyu 牛將軍, we turned a structural constraint into the star of the show. Instead of hiding an existing steel beam, we extended it and painted it neon pink—creating a modern, electric take on a traditional Japanese Torii gate.

Paired with classic Izakaya elements and a hidden pop of cool blue LEDs under the booths, the space delivers a perfect clash of traditional warmth and a mysterious, futuristic vibe.

The ultimate backdrop for premium Wagyu and weekend drinks. Who's ready?

For this project, we wanted the space to feel like it gradually pulls people in layer by layer.
At the shopfront, we introduced an angled overhead bulkhead with the logo positioned above to create a stronger sense of arrival and draw attention into the store from the mall. We also worked with the existing structural columns by placing machines below them, turning what could have been an awkward tenancy constraint into part of the frontage design.

One of the biggest challenges with claw machine stores is that the machines already come with a lot of colour, light and visual noise. During the design process, we worked closely with the client and supplier to review the machine selection and coordinate the overall presentation, so the machines and interior could feel more connected in colour and tone. This helped reduce the sense of clutter and create a cleaner, more cohesive space.

Retail upgrade completed for CHM Tech Haus at Vision City Port , creating a cleaner and more open layout to better showcase the latest tech products and accessories.

This project is part of our ongoing collaboration with CHM Tech Haus, where we have also delivered retail design for their stores at Harbourside South Shopping Centre and Hagen Central.

Always great to see the brand continue growing across multiple locations.
