I've had another crack at this piece.
This time a bit brighter
It is an original section of Chinese wallpaper dating back to the mid-1700s and currently horded somewhere in the archives of London's V&A's museum.
The wear and tear you can see is real.
I took the image and restored the colours to how they might have been, filled some of the bigger gaps, put a border around it and screen-printed it into a panel of locally sourced hardwood.

This is from two weeks ago.
First crack at working with wallpaper instead of timber.
The clients, a couple, came up with the design*, with a bit of help from AI.
All I then had to do was beef up the resolution for it to work up large, then figure out the best sort of wallpaper to print it on.
It looks a treat in this alcove, expertly hung by Nicky at Nicky Perfect Papering Perth

*It's a sweet design in that it represents the couple and their heritage, along with their future together raising two sons in Perth.
