Hello lovely friends!

A quick hello and an overdue post to say sorry for the delay in posting your orders if you place one between last Friday and 10 Nov 😅 we are indeed away and as usual I’m having problems packing yarn for self/shop 🤪

I bought some gorgeous squish from new friends (hello Marianne! Marianne 💖 - wait until you see her pretty hand dyed TENCEL 🧶 😍) and bits of stock from WYS and Stylecraft that I managed to grab whilst visiting family in 🇬🇧…

I even dragged Tim to the Stafford Wool Gathering 🤩 24 hours after we landed in Heathrow 😜 and it was amazing! The variety of yarn and knitting/crochet goodies was next level. I am so planning to go to more yarn fests in the UK as soon as I can…. (The House of Wool - Local Yarn Store Nic, coming?!? ☺️)

Anyway, I’m jumping back into knitting lace shawls 🥰 - we have some new stock from marianthiyarns 🥳 which I managed to squeeze in my WIP bag (see that delicious Colour Riot colourway? 💕)… although sorry I haven’t had time to upload them on the website yet 🤪!

… finally after 3 years umm-ing and aah-ing, I managed to bring Rellana 👯 Flotte Socke yarn 🧶 🧦 over and whoop, they’re AMAAAZING! 🤩

A beloved specialist sock yarn from Germany since 1972, and incredibly popular in Europe and the US, Rellana 🩷 has a crazy WIDE range of sock yarn - with various bases - you name it!

I found some of their yarn during a trip to the Netherlands a few years ago and I was in LOVE…. You won’t be disappointed, trust me!

I had to get a little bit of everything for now 🤪 and today I managed to list some of the ranges I got which are perfect for summer ☀️ - those with bamboo/viscose blends, cotton blends, merino/bamboo - all of which are deliciously SOFT and gorgeously patterned, light yet hard wearing 🤩🤩🤩

Have a look and tell me what you think (I did a knitted sample of the Woolfree 🤗 range and it was so pretty!)… I’ll list more (yes I did get 100 balls 🤪 🧶 🧶 🧶!) on the website when I have time 🫪

Ps One ball is usually between 400-420g so more than enough to make a pair! 🧦🧦

A few 🆕 Emma Ball goodies, ready for next Sunday’s Fibre Fest in Wyong. Who loves notepads 🗒️ as much as I do?! 🤚 (I have the most horrible handwriting 🤪!) Happy Sunday peeps x

I have had this yarn in the shop for ages 🤪 but FINALLY! I have time to knit a little swatch! 😂 and goodness I love it! 😍

It’s the Rico Design Creative Lazy Hazy Summer Cotton ☀️ and it’s the perfect yarn to play with the weather getting warm 🥵 (it’s not even summer yet!)

You see how pretty 🤩 it is? The basic colour is spun with print ply and makes a lovely variagated style - perfect for light tops or accessories.

It is a blend of cotton, acrylic, and polyester which will wash and wear well for the years to come. It is a popular yarn in Europe and now I know why!

Each ball has around 150m in length and it’s is a light DK weight. I have several colourways in stock and I’ll be bringing the sample to Fibre Fest in Wyong next Sunday, so come and have a look! 😘

… couldn’t stop making swatches yesterday and loving how our new Luca-S yarn turns out and feels!

I’d make a knitted 🧦 sample when I see my sock master Nicole The House of Wool - Local Yarn Store for an emergency sock clinic in a few weeks time… my sad menopausal brain wipes all trace of memories on how to do a toe-up sock 😭

….so lovely friends, I’m trying to learn to knit socks again! 🤪 after months of crocheting, finally my mojo for knitting is slowly, slowly coming back.

I fell in love with sock knitting after a class with my-now-yarn-and-dogobsessed-friend Nicole HouseOfWool 🐶🧶 back in 2020. Her toe-up method is THE best and I found myself having an uncontrollable sock obsession which then led me to opening this wee side hustle 🥰😂

Now after months of crocheting, I am determined to get back to it although … (cry) I have think I might have to do a quick trip up to the Blue Mountains for a spot of knitting with Nicole (HELP!)

With the reinvigorated spirit, I am also stocking the shop with fun, new sock yarn…

Luca-S WoolenWalk has gorgeous self patterning and colours - which is why I had to get 10 different colourways.

After playing around with it for a while - I can say that - similar to West Yorkshire Spinners and Stylecraft Head over Heels - it is strong and you know that your socks WILL last… but the good news is that the yarn is also feels quite soft to the skin! 75% Superwash wool, 25% polymide. One ball is 50g/205m - you’ll need two for socks.

Yes, they are finally restocked! 🎉

Last time these babies 🧶 went out quick 🏃‍♂️ - and no wonder - as they ARE one of my forever faves hand dyed, self-striping, matching (!!), soft, gorgeous and unique sock yarn. I remember ordering from the lovely Emily 😘 Turtlepurl Yarns back in 2021 before I had the shop!

This time I have more colourways too, peeps. Flick through the pics, aaah - they’re ALL insanely pretty. 🤩

Ps if anyone wants to come over to my place to teach me how to crochet socks 🧦 😳, I’ll put one aside for free as part of the fee?! 😜

Don’t ask me how many yarn bowls, Twizzters (I’m restocking soon! ps esp. for ✈️ trips!), or project bags that I have 🤪 … and as soon I saw a these crazy cute fruity yarn spinners by Xi Wang | Xnit Studio | Home of The Sunday Market Spinners 😘 I just have to have them!

Look at that bloody DRAGON FRUIT! How can you say no? I’m jumping back into sock knitting and I have this baby ready for my 🧶

Very well made for frictionless, smooth spinning, these are perfect to keep your yarn ball clean and steady. Super lightweight so you can take it with your easily. Approx 15 cm in diameter and height.

Made by Lisa and Xi 🩷 with eco-conscious material, what I love about them is that you can tell that they’re made with love and care - it’s really smooth and you can’t help but grinning 😁 when you use them!

I dream about my regular dragon fruit juice takeaway from the hawker centre when I lived in Singapore 🇸🇬 🤤 as I knit away 🧶

Hellllooo 🥳 yep, we are FINALLY! here at the Novotel for the Crochet Guild Australia Convention!

My amazing friend Leisa Ferguson managed to get all of our goodies sorted out nicely 💓 (I’m useless!) thank god she’s here!

We have so much discounted yarn 🧶…. come and help me clear out some stock so I can get some new ones 😜
