The Joy of the Creative Chain: To Our Florist Friends

While the mountain winter keeps us busy behind the scenes planning and preparing for spring, we are taking a moment to look back at one of the most rewarding parts of the season that was: our local collaborations.

To all our established florist friends, and the wonderful new faces we’ve met this season - thank you.

As a micro flower farmer, there is something uniquely fulfilling about harvesting armloads of a single variety. Standing in the field, inspecting every single bloom to make sure it is absolutely perfect, and preparing them for your hands is a true labor of love.

Knowing that these flowers are leaving Mount Macedon Flower Farm - Quindalup Estate to become a part of your artistry - going somewhere special, marking a milestone, or bringing comfort to someone, is incredibly rewarding. We grow them with care so you can design them with passion, and being a small part of that creative chain is pure magic.

Nature’s Beauty Beyond the Flower Beds 🍂🍄

While the flower farm is tucked in and resting for the winter, nature’s show doesn't stop - it just changes seasons.
Taking a step away from the farm gates, a walk through the Mount Macedon forest at this time of year is always incredibly special. The air is crisp, the canopy is quiet, and the forest floor is absolutely alive with its own winter magic.
Just look at this little wonder from today’s walk. No petals, no farm rows, just a perfect, vibrant demonstration of nature’s quiet artistry popping up through the damp leaf litter.
Winter on the Mount reminds us that beauty doesn't always have to be a blooming flower - sometimes, it’s a brilliant flash of red on a foggy forest floor.
Taking a deep breath of mountain air today and feeling so grateful for the wild spaces right on our doorstep. Stay warm, everyone! ☕️❄️

The True Joy of the Season: Our Collaboration with Nexia Aged Care

As the winter frost settles over the Mount and the fields go quiet, I’ve been looking back at the season that was. While growing beautiful, seasonal flowers is incredibly rewarding, it’s the collaborations and the people that truly make this micro-farm journey unforgettable.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to for a truly wonderful collaboration this year.
We had the privilege of running flower workshops with the residents, bringing a mountain of our peak-season blooms indoors. There was no stress, no pressure - just the pure, simple joy of the colors, the textures, and the beautiful scents filling the room.
Honestly? I think I get far more joy out of these sessions than the residents do. Watching their faces light up as they selected their blooms, arranged their vases and pride as they displayed their creations.
Bringing people and flowers together is exactly why Quindalup Estate exists. Thank you to the wonderful staff and brilliant residents at Nexia for welcoming us with such open arms.

The Ultimate Micro-Farm Fashion Statement
To all my flower farming friends, let’s be honest for a second..... when winter rolls around and the beds are quiet, you start looking back at your camera roll and questioning your peak-season sanity 😜
This was my high-tech, multi-colored setup for tagging and labeling my dahlia seedlings this season. Yes, I looked like a walking rainbow, and yes, I had to strongly resist the urge to hula dance my way through the field while wearing this.
Against all odds, I managed to stay focused on the task at hand. But as any grower will tell you - you can never label enough! There is always that one mystery seedling that tries to slip through the cracks.
Now that winter has set in on the Mount, I'm using this time to look back at the data (and the fashion choices) to plan for spring.

Breannon was an absolute dream this season. It's hard to believe that right now, beneath the cold Mount Macedon soil, everything is resting and recharging to do it all over again.
Micro-farming teaches you to love the impermanence of things. They aren't here forever, which makes holding them in your hands all the more special. 🌸

Winter has officially settled in on the mount ❄️
The mornings are crisp, the fog hangs low over the beds, and the farm is taking a well-deserved breath.
I’ve taken a moment through the cold weather to reflect back to the sea of colour that filled the field just a month ago.
