What about blackout curtains — can those be motorised?
Yes. And it's a game-changer for bedrooms and home theatres.
Blackout curtains are already one of the best investments you can make for sleep quality and home theatre setup. Motorising them makes them dramatically easier to actually use.
Here's why motorised blackout curtains work so well:
For bedrooms:
→ Schedule them to close at your bedtime automatically — no getting up in the dark
→ Wake-up automation opens them at sunrise, acting as a natural alarm
→ Blackout + motorised + scheduled = the best sleep environment you can create without effort
For children's rooms:
→ Nap time automation: close at 12:30pm, open at 2:30pm — done automatically
→ No cord risks (see our child safety post)
→ Kids can't pull them open during sleep time
For home theatres / media rooms:
→ "Movie mode" scene: curtains close, lights dim, TV turns on — one tap or one voice command
→ Complete blackout without fumbling around the room in the dark
Fabric note:
True blackout requires the right fabric AND the right installation (side channels or sealed edges to prevent light bleed). We specify this as part of every blackout installation — not an afterthought.
