Introducing my new feathery bestie, Ollie. She is likely to be a big part of my creative focus for a while. I need to finally start working on better organising systems for all of my craft bits and pieces, so that she has a safe space when she is ready to start exploring. I'm also planning to learn about safe woods and other materials to make some toys for her.

So I popped into DBV yesterday to give them a hand, and a few other things too, for today. I was going to do a lot of promo last night and this morning on my own socials, but something urgent came up.
However, I have heard a rumour that things from today's exhibition that didn't yet sell, may be available for sale at the friends and family day on Saturday.
I was going to post a pic of what I meant about giving them a hand, but jjust realised there doesn't seem to be a way to post a pic when I share someone else's post, so pic will be in comments.)

Somehow...every time I have another go at doing something with wire, I expect it to somehow be less ridiculous than last time...
There will be a pic at some point, but preferrably after this makes it out of the ugly, stabby, stage... *sigh*
Also, the skin around my fingernails does not appreciate my decision that fingers sometimes make better tools than pliers... *shrug*

I'm finishing up a few little surprises for the exhibition.
I have been told the money raised at the art exhibition will be used to improve community access for Deafblind people living in regional Vic.
Come along to this event, and check out the creative works of Deafblind artists and makers, which will be for sale. There will also be creative donations to buy that were made by supporters of the Deafblind community.

My dear friend CJ invited me for an interview this morning on her live show, as part of JOY 94.9 radiothon, to raise funds this week for the station. JOY relies entirely on sponsors and donations for any expenses, and is fully run by volunteers. We had a lovely chat, and I always enjoy how comfy I feel with CJ, and almost forget about the listeners, even while knowing I'm saying things that I feel important to say. The theme of CJ's show "Being Heard with Joy" felt absolutely appropriate for the kind of chat I needed today. I'm sharing it on my creative page before my private/personal one, because I was very excited to talk about my creative journey today, and linking together various things I care about is something I love doing.
This pic was on my way out. So CJ was already chatting with her next guest, or I would have asked her for a hug in front of the banner to share with you all.

I literally stopped, frozen in the middle of my living-room when the spark of inspo for this one hit my brain, just out of nowhere! I don't even remember what I had been in the middle of doing at the time...because whatever I'd been previously doing didn't matter any more...

I've made a few pairs of earrings of this (or similar) design, but showing you the pair I've made for myself, as that's the one pair that is not in the pile of projects that just need the last little bits of finishing/tidying. Also, because of the colour and texture combo, this particular pair is my personal favourite...which, I guess, is why they ended up being mine. LOL

But this one had to come first, because I'm sooo riddiculously excited about how well this little experiment turned out!
