Today I popped in to Parliament to see the amazing Greater Shepparton display in Queen's Hall.

I've always fought to deliver what’s best for the people of our area - now I'm keen to bring the fight to Parliament and continue my advocacy under The Nationals' Fair Share Guarantee 💪

The proposed Renewable Energy Zone which included Dookie has officially been wiped off the map!

This is a huge win for our community and our farmers.

More than 11,000 community members signed the petition demanding that our highly productive agricultural land be protected.

Labor had plans to push the Dookie REZ ahead. We exposed it, our community stood up, and together we have stopped it.

This is what happens when regional communities stand together and refuse to be ignored.

I will always fight to protect our farmers, our agricultural industry and some of the most productive farmland in the State.

Great to run into Shane Sali for Shepparton District at the great The Tatura Hotel recently, who has stepped away from his role as Mayor of Greater Shepparton to run for The Nationals for Regional Victoria in Shepparton at the upcoming state election.

The people of Victoria need a fresh start this November, and Shane is the fighter locals here need to fix the roads, stop the waste and end the corruption.

Our candidate Shane Sali for Shepparton District brings the local knowledge, work ethic and community trust that the Shepparton district needs in Spring Street.
The Nationals' commitment to guaranteeing 25 per cent of infrastructure funding for regional Victoria will be a game-changer for Shepparton, and a chance to finally get its fair share of investment in roads, hospitals and community infrastructure.
The only way to get a fair share for Shepparton and its surrounds is to vote for Shane and The Nationals this November.

Signing off as Mayor

Today, I formally bring a close to my time serving as Mayor of Greater Shepparton.

From this point, while I am on leave from Council and campaigning for the State Election, I will not receive any Council remuneration.

Being Mayor of Greater Shepparton has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

To be trusted to represent the community where I was raised, and where my family and I have built our life, is something I will always be incredibly proud of.

I came into Council wanting to make a difference and to get things done. There have been challenges, difficult decisions and plenty of lessons along the way, but I have always tried to lead with the best interests of our community at heart.

I’m proud of what we have achieved together advocating strongly for our region, securing investment, supporting local businesses and jobs, progressing important infrastructure and making sure Greater Shepparton’s voice was heard well beyond our municipal boundaries.

But what I will remember most, is the people.

The volunteers, sporting clubs, community groups, businesses, farmers, families and individuals I have met across every corner of Greater Shepparton. I have seen our community celebrate together, and I have seen it stand together through some incredibly difficult times.

Those experiences have shaped me and strengthened my belief in just how special this region is.

Thank you to the Greater Shepparton community for placing your trust in me and allowing me the privilege of serving you as Mayor. Thank you to my fellow Councillors, Council staff and everyone I have had the opportunity to work alongside.

I also want to thank my family. Public life asks a lot of the people closest to you, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support they have given me throughout my time as Mayor and continue to give me as I take this next step.

While today closes an important chapter for me, my commitment to this community hasn’t changed.

Greater Shepparton is my home. It always will be.

I leave the role enormously grateful for the opportunity I was given, proud of what we achieved and even more determined to keep fighting for the region and the people I love.
