About Face, 2024 by Voluminous all encompassing gestures liquify and splash depicting the fundamental shift that occurs when by acquiring new information, our point of view broadens and our usual concepts are replaced with something new and divergent; a paradigm shift. This piece seeks to push the viewer in the direction of self-reflection, uncertainty and to bend their perceptions. With a luminously vivid palette and arresting large scale symbolism, the work evokes abstract reflections and asks the viewer to reconsider their frame of reference.

Andrew Wapinski (USA), is a visual artist whose current practice is rooted in the memories of interacting with the environment of the historic coal mining town in which he grew up. His work places great importance on the physicality of material and its relationship to artistic process.
