From the vault: Talysha & Matt, the wedding that made me keep a secret.

As a certified yapper, these divine humans put an enormous amount of trust in me when they asked me to pull off a surprise wedding back in October 2024.

My cover story? I was emceeing the most lush engagement party in history.

All that speculation and all those suspicious looks turned into the most beautiful, unfiltered joy the second I got on the mic and spilled the beans.

To be trusted with a secret this big, and to hopefully do justice to a love this good, was truly the gift of a lifetime.

From the vault: Eleanor & Jimit, the wedding that got me on the mic.

I’d joked for years about becoming a celebrant, but it wasn’t until two of my closest friends got engaged that I decided to put my money where my mouth was.

A full Cert IV, countless assessments, and a whole lot of learning later, I was (just) ready. Through all of it, they backed me completely, even when it looked like I might not make it to the finish line in time.

December 2022 rolled around, and it all came together. The flowers (yep, I did those too), getting a Toller down the aisle on cue, standing in front of everyone to tell the story of two people I’d had the privilege of watching fall in love - it was all pure magic.

And thus, Gung Ho Florist evolved.

Eight years ago, exactly to the day, I started Gung Ho Florist.

Since then, it’s grown in every direction. There’s been plenty of flowers, but I also perform ceremonies, coordinate timelines, and pour drinks - and that’s before you throw in all the writing and content I do for my day job.

I haven’t shared much of that side of things because it never quite fit under the florist banner, so it felt like time for a glow-up that reflects the full picture.

Enter Gung Ho Creative. Still me (hi!), just a bigger snapshot of everything I love creating.

Here’s to eight more years of Gung Ho-ing it.
