Interior photos don’t usually show the reality… The washing to be folded, the Lego spread across the floor, or the assortment of craft activities slowly taking over the coffee table.

Some days this room looks calm, curated and beautifully resolved. Some days (like today)…. absolutely not.

But I think that’s the point of a family home. Creating spaces that still feel warm, functional and calming, even when they’re properly lived in. People say one day I’ll miss this stage, but I’m still not entirely convinced. Still working on the kids to pack up their things at least at the end of the day so I get to enjoy just a moment looking like this….

One thing I always try to consider when styling family homes is reducing visual clutter wherever possible.
If your building,I love our tv, fireplace and aircon all in one with soft edges and essential storage to the right.

I also find a quieter, neutral palette with muted pops of colour tends to make the everyday chaos feel a little less overwhelming.

I’ve been asked this a few times now… “Who was your landscape designer?” 🙊

Ummmm… it was me!

Not formally a service I offer, but for this project I really wanted the outdoor spaces to feel just as considered as the interiors. Soft, low maintenance, family friendly and connected to the overall feel of the home.

A year and a half later it’s still going strong with only a few small tweaks along the way.Hope it brings a little inspiration to your own home and outdoor spaces

What a transformation… and highly recommend our very cute little landscapers 🤎

This is not just a pretty corner. It’s actually the entire reason behind this renovation 🤎

Once dusty attic storage, thanks to this is now one of my favourite spaces. Not just light… actual winter sun flooding deep into the room. It’s incredible how much natural sun can completely change your mood and overall sense of wellbeing at home.

On cold winter days, this cosy corner becomes my favourite spot in the house. A quiet moment to sit, read or work before the afternoon chaos of school pick-up begins… although the peaceful reading moments are probably a little less frequent than I imagined. 🙊

In summer, the blockout roller blinds lower automatically in the early afternoon to take the edge off the harsh westerly sun while still keeping the space feeling calm and connected to the outdoors.

The Dan Rushford artwork was chosen not just because it’s beautiful, but because of how it makes me feel. It instantly takes me back to Italy, my favourite holiday destination in the world, and a constant source of inspiration. It’s a reminder for me to slow down in a world that constantly feels busy.

The rug was another piece chosen for both beauty and practicality. Stylish, with a bit of interest, but low maintenance and durable enough for kids, workouts, movie nights and everyday life.

To me, this is what thoughtful design and styling is really about. Creating homes that don’t just look beautiful in photos, but genuinely shape how you live, feel and move through everyday life.

Creating spaces that feel relaxed, inviting and beautifully lived in is always the goal 🤎

A sculptural vase moment from , oversized greenery, an organic pendant light by hung intentionally off-centre, and the indoor and outdoor stool selection all help this space feel softer, more layered and connected to the outdoors.

A fresh coat of white paint on the steel servery windows completely changed the feel of the space, while the outdoor stools were actually headed for the bin at one point. With a little love, some repairs and a fresh spray of paint, they became one of my favourite details. Not everything needs to be brand new, actually it’s better if it’s not.

I wanted this servery space to feel less like a window and more like somewhere people naturally gather. Morning coffee moments, relaxed cheese platters, or making cocktails with friends.

It’s often these quieter styling and material decisions that completely shape the atmosphere of a home and one of my favourite parts of working with clients is helping bring those details together in a way that feels both elevated and effortless.

It’s been a little quiet over here… because behind the scenes I’ve been deep in the final layers of this very special project ✨

Styling, sourcing, landscaping, painting, problem solving, late nights, cleaning and… *squeal* …a photoshoot with the incredibly talented , plus pulling together our submission for this year’s HIA Awards with our amazing builder and all-round great human .

This home has been years in the making, and every detail was designed to feel beautiful, practical, and deeply lived in. From winter sun flooding through oversized skylight and doors, to clever storage, wellness spaces, and materials chosen not just for how they look, but for how they make you feel living there every day.

I can’t wait to finally start sharing more of Waverley Wellness House with you 🤎

I hope it inspires you and shows how carefully considered design decisions and curated details can completely transform the way a home feels and functions.

Discernment is recognising when something works, regardless of where it’s sourced.

It adds subtle interest against the breccia rosa marble from and scallop tiles from while keeping the overall palette calm.

Our styling services are for those who value investment, balanced with restraint.

Finally revealing this very special commissioned piece by the incredibly talented 🤎

She didn’t just paint a portrait, she told our story.
Our favourite outfits, the beach bag, the hats and hair. Even our 22 year old parrot, Morrie.

It now anchors our living space, above the oversized dining table where we create, craft, enjoy amazing food and make memories.

Art has the power to hold a room.
And sometimes the right piece does not exist until you create it. We will be forever grateful that Gab created this piece just for us.

If you have been searching for something that feels personal, this is your sign. Go and follow Gabrielle’s work. She is magic. 🤎

And if you are designing a home that deserves pieces this considered, you know where to find me.

You’ve moved in.
The layout works. You have more space than before. This was meant to be your forever home.
And yet… it still doesn’t feel quite right.

That’s because styling is the final layer most people don’t realise they need.

It’s more than furniture and soft furnishings.

It’s the quiet details. Linen, soap dispensers, towels, trays . The way everything sits together to soften a space and create cohesion.

It’s the difference between impressive and inviting.
It’s the feeling when you walk in and everything just makes sense.

If your home is missing something, my initial design consultation is where we begin. Link in bio.

This felt like a parenting win this morning!

Out the door at 6:30am and 7:20am today and both kids made their beds before breakfast WITHOUT ME ASKING!!!

I promise I styled nothing for this video. Real life and how good does it look! Some lumps and bumps…. (Mr J) but I’ll take it.

Kids rooms are one of my favourite spaces to style. When their space feels calm, functional and considered, they actually want to keep it that way (and we laughed and we laughed….) well, that’s my theory anyway.

Layered 100% linen bedding, colours that work with the rest of the house, good storage, maybe some art or wallpaper they (ok, I) connect with and you’re halfway there.

Kids’ rooms can be stylish, practical and still 100% kid-friendly.

If you want to glow up your kids rooms see link in bio to book an initial design consult or DM me with any questions.
