A school that tells a story from the ground up. π«
North Melbourne Primary School Campus, designed by ARM Architecture, is a six-storey vertical campus.
ARM Architecture chose Marmoleum Marbled as the primary floor covering across all levels. The brief demanded durability for busy circulation areas, sustainability credentials for a healthy learning environment, and a colour range extensive enough to give each level its own distinct identity.
Each building level represents a layer of Wurundjeri Country, culture and language, developed in deep collaboration with N'arweet Dr Carolyn Briggs AM, a senior Boonwurrung Elder and former pupil of the school herself. The ground floor is the 'Emu's Egg'. The third floor references the 'Land' in earthy tones. The fourth level becomes the 'Sky' in vivid blue.
"The new build has exceeded our expectations. The Molesworth Campus is an impressive architectural design, which the students and families have enthusiastically embraced." β Sarah Nightingale, Founding Principal, NMPS
