Jessica Ellis Art

Jessica Ellis Art I'm an Australian artist inspired by nature and mythology No bureaucracy, no conspicuous consumption, no anxiety in existence.

A celebration of tiny life; the lives that crawl and grow and are born and die - on the head of a pin, in a cluster of leaves, alone in the empty sky.

Join me for an intimate, beginner-friendly ceramics workshop at focused on hand-building organic vessels inspired by the natural world around us.

I'll take you step-by-step through my mindful process of making, beginning by connecting with inspiration from nature. I will share some of the techniques I've built up over the span of my creative practice, as I guide you in creating your own piece.

You'll get the chance to experiment with clay, and then complete one piece in this relaxed three hour workshop at Curio Palm Beach on Fri 20 March, 4.30 - 7.30pm.https://www.curiopalmbeach.com.au/creative-classes-1/p/hand-building-ceramics-workshop-friday-20-march for all the details and tickets!

I've been experimenting with some new forms AND new glaze combinations! This vase is about palm size. I made it as part of a series of small vases to figure out what forms I want to make at a much bigger size - and I have to say, even at this size I love this one!

The glazes are a combination of Eucalypt and Deep Harbour, with Nebula Blue and Turbulent Indigo by , on Mid33 clay - I love the little hint of speckle you can see on the rim where the glazes break to flow down the sides.

I just love all the tiny details in this swirly rockpool bowl. I had this bowl with me at and I'm so grateful that someone fell in love with it and took it home with them!

I just got a delivery of glazes, with my favourite copper green gloss which I use as the base for my rockpool series, as well as a sample pack of 16 of their new glazes. I'm so excited to try them all out. I've got lots of new ideas for things to make and I'm sure the new glazes will lend plenty of inspiration as well!

Thank you for so many beautiful moments over the weekend! I'm so grateful to everyone who visited my stall, said lovely things about my work, and especially grateful to everyone who took a piece of my ceramics home with them - I put my heart into creating them, and it brings me so much joy to see them going to new homes.

The market weekend was an absolute whirlwind, and so wonderfully organised and executed by , .ceramics, and the entire team - sending a huge huge thank you and hugs to you all for creating such an amazing space for ceramic artists and lovers to come together!

I also want to send a big big shout out to my studio - I love having my studio there, it is such a creative and energising space to work in! And a huge thank you to studio tech (and beautiful ceramicist) Maddy for working like an absolute champion to get all our work fired and ready for the weekend 🥰
