The Wool Inn is a specialist retail shop which has been catering to the needs of the enthusiastic hand knitter and crocheter since 1972. Our staff are keen knitters themselves and are ready to help you with your latest project. We carry a wide range of stock from brands such as Malabrigo, Noro, Patons, Katia, Sirdar, Juniper Moon, Rowan, Cleckheaton, Panda, Shepherd, Bellissimo, Fiddlesticks, Heirloom, and Ella Rae. When you can’t decide between crochet or knitting…… why not do both!!
This design by Agnieszka Reduch comes with the option to work the main body section in knitting or crochet fabric.
The Grace Sweater is worked from the top down, and you can choose the sleeve length – short or long. Pattern download file includes a chart (not written pattern) and instructions, with a short instruction for transitioning from the crocheted yoke to the knitted body and sleeves is also included.
Pattern available on Ravelry.
Bess made it in Sesia Iride for the top yoke and then changed to knitting in with a tonal shade for the body.
New Iride colours have just been released for summer and available instore and online.

Natalie chose malabrigo Rios in the prettiest range of pastels for her crocheted Confetti Pullover.
The jumper is crocheted seamlessly from the neck down. The pattern comes with a suggested colour transition of 5 different colors, but you can use as many colors as you want.
We have plenty to choose from with over 100 shades of Malabrigo Rios in stock.
Can't wait to see this one completed.

Feel good Friday… Jody is on her first ever garment in crochet and is doing an amazing job. Came in this week to check her size against the sample we have on display, and had to capture the excitement in a photo.
Jody is making it in Malabrigo Rios in a rich camel shade 208.
The top is worked from the neck down and is great to try on as you go to see the length. Highly recommended as a first crochet garment project, with lots of our beautiful customers have great success.
Doris Chan Spirals is a ravelry paid download and is a versatile pattern which can be worked in a wide range of fibres.

Marilyn came on Friday to class and learnt join as you go granny square technique.
She popped in this morning to show her long weekend progress.
From a Patons book “Cute Crochet” with 4 super easy granny square designs, it’s a great way to play with lots of beautiful shades from the Patons Dreamtime 4ply range of colours.

Feel good Friday… we shared a progress pic of Lilea’s crochet cables a few weeks ago which had lots of people thinking it was knitted.
This week we got to see the finished project looking fabulous on Lilea, with customers instore all thinking it was knitted and asking how it was constructed too.
The cables are worked sideways and we have included the YouTube link that she used to create this gorgeous Aran style sweater. Made in Chaska Wara, a soft alpaca, merino and cotton blend which is super lightweight and perfect for this style.
Lilea is travelling to Canada in October and will get lots of wear from her creation in the colder climate.
Before you ask, there is no pattern for this sweater as Lilea made it up on the hook as she went, very clever young lady.

Sian has got her crochet mojo back…..came in at the start of the school holidays and had it finished in a weekend.
Instant gratification and a super soft baby alpaca top down sweater, perfect for mid season weather.
Based on the Doris Chan design spirals and worked in a 5.50mm it took only 4 balls of Chaska Wara.
Sian is in for her next holiday project.

Feel Good Friday… Rebecca is loving lace knitting and was up for a challenge with this beautiful piece.
Made in Noro Sonata shade 55 it falls softly and is the perfect weight for spring knitwear.
A 12 row pattern repeat with alternating purl rows kept Rebecca’s interest while creating such a unique fabric.
At first glance, many think it is crocheted due to the open work lace. Pattern comes in 2 sizes and takes 3 skeins of Noro Sonata
S/M measures 100cm
L/XL measures 118cm

Feel Good Friday...is making your own handmade garment for a special occasion.
Bettina crocheted this gorgeous poncho for her brother's waterside wedding last weekend. They enjoyed lovely warm weather and the poncho was formal enough over a dress with sandals.
It was also a great talking point as other crafters marvelled at the colour changing yarn used so cleverly in the small motifs.
Bettina trusted the Noro yarn spinners amazing colour combination and resisted controlling the motif placement.
The picot edging surrounds the body, a tasseled drawstring gathers the neck and tasselled ties join the sides.
