Feel good Friday... with a combined tally of over 70 years of experience and knowledge in the world of wool. Anita and Bess have been standing together, sharing in your projects, offering advice, colour therapy and help when needed.
We were nominated to be part of the exhibition of shopkeepers in Western Sydney for the opening of the Powerhouse Museum, Parramatta, November 2026.
This week we were notified we didn't make the cut, but the photographer emailed us some images that she had taken late last year.
For those of you who know how colourful The Wool Inn world is, this image is a stark contrast to our bright and beautiful reality.
Even after the decades spent behind the counter we are still smiling and grateful for our wonderful Wool Inn community.

Feel good Friday…is seeing the pieces come together to complete something unique to wear.
Tracy has been working on her Bloomsbury top by Tammy Hildebrand in Noro.
The top is joined as you go in floral crochet motifs to create the front and back panels.
A smaller motif fills the space between the larger blooms.
The side gussets and sleeves are then crocheted onto the centre motif panel.
Tracy popped instore to compare her version with Anita’s Bloomsbury top we have on display in the Zauberball cotton 4ply. Bess made it for Anita in a gradient dyed yarn which is the perfect choice to watch each motif bloom.

Another gorgeous little outfit in the Patons Dreamtime 4ply duo, shade 4988 Lupine and 3905 Berry.
Michelle made this adorable knitted cardigan and onesies set from design Lille Dahlia by LE KNIT.
Worked top down in one piece, this beautiful leaf pattern has a wonderful texture due to the purl stitches.
The pattern contain directions for a pullover, a top, a cardigan, a dress, and a onesie.

Feel good Friday….. today’s look is contemporary and creative we like to call “Freeform Friday”. Deborah came in looking absolutely fabulous in her red asymmetric oversized creation.
Deborah used lots of different textures and fibres within the red colour family and with her stylish accents and design features makes a very unique and versatile fashion piece.
Deborah puts together some amazing vibrant colour combinations that reflect her artistic flair.

Feel Good Friday…this week we had a “Tresse Trifecta” when Trish and Debbie did a double take in store with their top down Tresse design sweaters.
We needed to make it a trifecta so Anita popped on her version in Malabrigo sock held with Moseta mohair.
Trish in seafoam blue selected Scotland2 tweed held with a perfect match in Kremke lace weight silky kid mohair.
Debbie knitted hers in a single strand of Malabrigo Rios choosing one of their more solid tones from the range.
Designer Isabell Kraemer, has some fantastic top down seamless designs available on Ravelry.
Her patterns explain this technique clearly if you are keen to try top down construction found in many current patterns.

Feel Good Friday… it’s all about making connections and this week Mary and Vicki met for the first time at The Wool Inn. They immediately became kindred spirits over their love and passion for their projects together.
Mary was wearing her fabulous knitted skirt that used up many oddments, knitted as 6 seperate panels. Vicki had a good look at the construction.
Vicki was wearing her Stephen West design Penguono which is a multi direction knitted jacket utilising lots of fantastic fibres and colours to create a unique wearable artwork.
Together they went through some of the blankets that Vicki was working on and added some new shades to her current blankets.
Vicki is making a personalised blanket for each of her 18 grandchildren.
It is a magical space where people connect and share the love of our crafts and fibres.

Feel Good Friday… we have been waiting a long time for this gorgeous colour in Noro Akari and have just received the delivery.
Anita knitted this beautiful sampler sweater called Structure by Jacqueline van Dillen and is on display in the shop.
This knittted stitch sampler design lets the soft blues and beiges of Akari colour 05 harmonise with horizontal bands of botanical lace patterning.
Double ribbing gives structure to the soft boat neck and bands.
In sizes small, medium, large and X-Large.
Anita is wearing size medium.
Takes 3 balls S, M, L. 4 balls XL.
