A little weekend sewing, with a finished pillow at the end of it.

Heart to Heart is a 20" patchwork pillow pattern designed to be a manageable project you can make from fabrics you already have. Choose your favourite scraps, pull together a colour palette, and turn them into something useful for your home or a thoughtful handmade gift.

The pattern includes two ways to piece the heart:
• Foundation paper piecing
• Trace-and-cut templates for machine or hand piecing

It’s a lovely size project for a birthday or Christmas gift, without committing to making an entire quilt.

Breaking the Waves has plenty of pieces, but that doesn’t mean it’s difficult to make.

The pattern includes instructions for easy construction, with seams that nest neatly to help everything fall into place. It’s the sort of quilt you can make gradually, a few blocks at a time, enjoying the process rather than feeling you need to tackle it all at once.

And with all those pieces comes plenty of opportunity to use what you already have. Breaking the Waves is wonderfully scrap and stash friendly, perfect for pulling together favourite fabrics collected over time.

Scraps, a favourite colour palette and a little hand stitching — Oliver is the sort of quilt that feels special from start to finish.

This scrap and stash-friendly quilt works beautifully with a restricted colour palette. I’ve used blues, teals and mustards, giving plenty of variety while still keeping the finished quilt feeling cohesive.

Oliver combines machine piecing with appliqué, so there’s a lovely mix of techniques as you work your way through the quilt. If you enjoy the prepared-edge appliqué method, optional pre-cut circle papers are also available.

And once the piecing is finished, add some hand quilting for that final handmade touch.

Made slowly from fabrics you already love, Oliver would make a wonderful quilt to keep, or an especially thoughtful gift for someone you love.

Buttons and Bows features gentle curves that can be machine pieced or hand pieced. Mix and match fabrics from your stash, then use a single fabric for the block centres to bring all those different prints together.

The pattern includes both 6" and 8" block templates, so you can choose the scale that suits your project.

Prefer a little help with cutting? Optional acrylic templates are available for rotary cutting and can also be used to draw the sewing lines for hand piecing.

My finished The Bowerbird’s Trove quilt is a collection of Foundation Paper Pieced blocks I’ve made over time, gathered together into one colourful quilt.

But you don’t need to make a whole sampler.

Pick a block you love and make just one. Turn it into a pillow cover, pincushion, tote bag or wall hanging. Make a few and you have the beginnings of a table runner. Or keep going and build an entire quilt.

Most of the FPP blocks featured in The Bowerbird’s Trove can be found individually in my shop, and they come in multiple sizes, giving you even more options for what to make.

It’s also a great way to use those favourite scraps you’ve been saving for just the right project.

Turn a pile of scraps into a quilt you’ll be rather pleased with.

Clippings is a beginner-friendly, scrap and stash-friendly quilt pattern designed to make good use of the fabrics you already have. Work within a favourite colour palette for a more controlled scrappy look, or simply start pulling fabrics from your stash.

It’s a great choice for newer quilters because it’s rotary cut and traditionally pieced using straightforward construction and familiar sewing techniques. Once you’ve made a few blocks, you can settle into the repetition and enjoy watching the quilt grow.

The result is a satisfying scrappy quilt that looks considered and cohesive, while making a very welcome dent in your stash.
