Menopause broke my heart. Literally. đź’”

I wanted to share something personal with you all. Menopause hit me hard, and I've recently been diagnosed with a serious heart condition as a result. Jo's Dreamland was never just a business to me - I poured my heart and soul into it, and truly wanted to help more children access better futures.

For now, I need to step back and focus on getting better. That means the stock we have is all there is - we won't be ordering or manufacturing more in the short term. I'm not walking away forever though. I'm dreaming of something slower and more bespoke - truly unique pieces for little ones, made with even more love.

To every single one of you who has ordered, shared, and sent kind words - thank you. From the bottom of my (currently mending) heart. 🌙

And to all the women out there - if your heart rate is doing strange things during menopause, please insist your doctor investigates further. Even if they tell you everything is fine. Trust yourself.

We visited the Banksy exhibition today, and this is the one that stayed with me.

Letting my children be exactly who they are has always been one of my deepest values - not something I've had to learn, but something I've held onto from the very beginning.

But this quote made me think of so many parents (and grandparents) I've watched over the years - good people, loving people - who somehow couldn't quite do it. Who steered, shaped, and pushed, convinced they knew better who their child should be.

The love was never in question. But sometimes love needs to get out of its own way.

To be seen. To be understood. To be loved exactly as you are. That's what every child deserves. And that is at the heart of what we do.
