Looks like I've got myself another date with the ocean! And wouldn't you know it, I'm setting sail on SAMHAIN! 🎃🌙 Because OF COURSE I AM! 💜

For the next 8 days, I'm trading the apothecary for the Caribbean, my Jeep for a big ass boat, and everyday responsibilities for some sunshine, salty air, and whatever shenanigans I can manage to get myself into! 🏴‍☠️☀️Y'all already KNOW I'm gonna find me some shenanigans! 😂

So while I'm off somewhere between here and paradise, The Spiritual Loft 11 & Apothecary will be CLOSED starting today through November 8th!

🖤❤️ THE WITCHES OF SCOTLAND — WHEN HISTORY IS WOVEN INTO REMEMBRANCE ❤️🖤

Y'all, I came across something this morning that absolutely stopped me in my tracks. And the more I learned about it, the more I fell in LOVE with what it represents.
Scotland has created a tartan to honor the estimated 2,500 souls executed during the Scottish witch hunts between 1563 and 1736.

Before we go any further, there's something I want you to understand.
Most of these "witches" were simply WOMEN. Women who were different. Women who were poor. Women who were outspoken. Women who didn't fit comfortably into society's expectations. Women caught in neighborhood disagreements, religious hysteria, and accusations that required little more than someone's suspicion. Some were men, too. And contrary to popular stories, we cannot assume these people were all herbalists, healers, midwives, or practicing witches.
Many were simply ordinary human beings whose greatest crime was being accused.
Let that sink in.

Now, here's where history gets REALLY interesting, especially for those of us who grew up with Christianity. Let's talk about KING JAMES. Yes, THAT King James.
The very same James whose name appears on the King James Bible that so many modern Christians hold up as the unquestionable Word of God. Before James VI of Scotland became James I of England, he was deeply involved in the Scottish witch-hunting climate.

In 1597, he published a book called Daemonologie, defending the existence of witchcraft, demonic activity, and the persecution of those accused. This wasn't some harmless fascination with the supernatural. His beliefs helped legitimize a system in which human beings could be tortured, condemned, and executed over accusations of witchcraft. Then, in 1604, King James authorized the English Bible translation that would become the King James Version, published in 1611.

Now, let's be historically clear. King James did not personally write or translate the entire Bible. A committee of scholars did that work under his authority. And the biblical condemnations of witchcraft existed long before him. But I find it absolutely fascinating that the same monarch who defended witchcraft persecution also sponsored the Bible translation that would become one of the most influential religious texts in English-speaking Christianity. And centuries later, we still hear people quoting, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." — Exodus 22:18, KJV.

Do you see why I believe it is SO important to understand the HISTORY behind the things we are taught to believe?
Questioning religious authority isn't the same thing as attacking someone's personal faith. But refusing to examine how religion and political power have been used to persecute people, especially women, is how we allow history to repeat itself.
Now, back to this BEAUTIFUL tartan.

Every color carries remembrance.
🖤 Black holds the darkness of the persecution.
🩶 Grey remembers the ashes.
❤️ Red recalls the bloodshed and the legal history of these trials.
🩷 Pink references the ribbons once used to bind legal documents.
🤍 Three tiny white threads represent three demands: A PARDON. AN APOLOGY. A MEMORIAL.

In 2022, Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon formally apologized for the historical injustice. And now, through the Witches of Scotland campaign, this beautiful tartan allows their memory to be carried forward.

Y'all, I WANT ONE. Not just because I identify as a witch. Not just because I think the pattern is absolutely gorgeous.
I want one because I understand what it represents.

I see women whose voices were silenced. I see human beings condemned by fear. I see generations of people who were never given the opportunity to defend themselves fairly. And I see modern women continuing to question, learn, speak, challenge, and refuse to surrender their autonomy. I don't need to pretend that every woman executed was secretly a witch like me to honor her. She didn't have to BE a witch to deserve to LIVE.
Read that again!

That, my friends, is the part that reaches straight into my soul. This tartan isn't about glorifying persecution. It's about remembering the PEOPLE. It's about acknowledging injustice. And it's about refusing to let their stories disappear beneath centuries of silence. Because when we weave remembrance into something that can be worn, held, and passed down, history becomes more than something we read. It becomes something we carry.
And I would be PROUD to carry this one.
May their names be remembered, their humanity honored, and their stories NEVER forgotten. 🖤

🌕✨ Oh, What a Beautiful Night Beneath the Full Moon Goddess! ✨🌕💜

Y'all, my heart is so FULL this morning! And not just because of that beautiful Full Moon Goddess who graced us with her presence last night! 🌚

Last night's Full Moon Gathering at The Spiritual Loft 11 & Apothecary was one of those evenings that reminds me exactly WHY I do what I do. And goodness, how far we've come! 💜

We had some familiar faces who have been gathering beneath the Moon with me since our VERY FIRST Full Moon Gathering back in 2022, at TSL11's original location in Tyler! Folks who walked through my doorway as acquaintances and somewhere along the way became FAMILY. My TRIBE.
My PEOPLE. 🥹 And we welcomed a beautiful new soul into our little circle last night! I sure hope this is just the first of many evenings we'll share together!

Now, y'all know I can't have a gathering without feeding somebody, so I whipped up a big ol' pot of my famous homemade vegetable soup, served with toast, and we had fresh apple c***r filled with delicious seasonal fruits! 🍎🍊🥣 There was laughter, conversation, friendship, good food, FIRE, and a beautiful alignment ritual beneath the watchful glow of our Full Moon Goddess!
And in true Windi fashion, did I remember to take pictures of all these beautiful people? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!! 🤣🤦‍♀️
But I DID manage to snap a quick picture of our Honorary Goddess herself! And although the clouds decided to invite themselves to our gathering, they couldn't dim her light one bit!

Funny how that works, isn't it? Sometimes life throws a few clouds across our skies, but that doesn't mean our light has gone anywhere. 💜 And that brings me to something I really want to say this morning.

To MY TRIBE...
From the souls who have known me for years to the ones whose paths have only recently crossed mine, I want you to know something. YOU are the magick of The Spiritual Loft 11. Not the herbs. Not the candles. Not the rituals. Not even that gorgeous Full Moon hanging over our heads. YOU!!! I know your stories. I know about your accomplishments and your struggles. Your love stories, your heartbreaks, your victories, and sometimes your unimaginable losses. I've celebrated with you. I've cried with you. I've laughed until our bellies hurt with you. I've listened to the things you couldn't say anywhere else, and I've held space for the emotions you weren't quite ready to share with the rest of the world. And somewhere in all those conversations, tears, hugs, and belly laughs, each of you carved out your own little place in my heart. And Yall, those places are PERMANENT! 💜 I don't take your trust lightly. Not for one single second.

Thank you for supporting my apothecary and the dreams I've poured into it. But more than anything, thank you for trusting ME. Thank you for allowing me to know the parts of you that the rest of the world doesn't always get to see. Thank you for allowing me to create a space where you can simply BE. No pretending. No judgment. No expectations to be anything other than exactly who you are. And thank you for loving me right back. Because believe me, I FEEL IT! 🥹💜

To those of you who have been watching from the sidelines, a little curious, maybe even a little cautious... I innerstand. I really do. But let me tell you something about this little place I've built. You don't have to know a thing about Moon rituals. You don't have to believe what I believe. You don't have to have your life figured out, your heart completely healed, or your ducks in a row. Hell, most of us don't even know where our ducks ARE half the time! 🤣🦆
Just come as YOU. Bring your curiosity, your laughter, your questions, your heavy heart, or your beautiful messy self.
There will ALWAYS be open arms, a welcoming heart, and room for another soul at TSL11. That's my promise. 💜

Our Full Moon Gatherings are officially BACK every month until that rude ol' Winter decides to show up around February and freeze our happy little asses off! 😂❄️ Then we'll let our gatherings slumber until Spring calls us back outside beneath the Moon. But until then, we've got more fires to gather around, more stories to tell, more laughter to share, and more magick to make!

I love the Moon. I love the rituals. I love the fire, the herbs, and every bit of the beautiful energy that comes with these gatherings.
But the Moon has never been my reason for gathering.

🌞Grand Rising, Beautiful Souls! 💜

Who knew a radish could bring such a beautiful lesson about LIFE?! 🫜 Some of you know I'm vegetarian, and I'm always looking for new fruits and vegetables to experience. Well, last night at Fresh, I stumbled upon this BEAUTY called a Watermelon Radish! And of course, I was GAME! Never had one, never even seen one before, but LOOK AT HER! 😍
That gorgeous green exterior hiding those beautiful purple and pink rings inside! And with a name like watermelon, surely she's going to be sweet, right?! WRONG! 😂
Let me tell y'all, this lady has some FIRE in her! She's bolder, hotter, and packs more attitude than her little red cousin ever thought about! And I LOVE IT!

I was preparing my salad with broadleaf greens, tomatoes, black olives, carrocts, red radishes, two different bulb onions, chives, and Celtic salt when I snuck a little taste of this beautiful stranger. WHEW! What a pleasantly unexpected surprise! 🔥 And just like that, standing in my kitchen chopping vegetables, my mind wandered somewhere beautiful.

Isn't it funny how much LIFE can teach us when we're actually paying attention?
Here sits this gorgeous little radish, all green and unassuming on the outside, hiding the most beautiful colors and a whole lot of FIRE beneath the surface. Meanwhile, her bright red cousin LOOKS like she'd bring the heat, but she's actually the milder of the two.

I thought well, ain't that just like PEOPLE?!
There was a time in my life when I'd read the cover of a book and decide the whole damn story without ever opening it to see what was written inside.

Oh, how I've grown. I've learned to appreciate the quiet covers, the unexpected chapters, the beauty that doesn't announce itself, and the fire that doesn't need to roar to be felt. I can't help but wonder how many beautiful souls, experiences, and blessings I would have missed had I never learned to look a little deeper. Hell, I even turned that thought inward! I spent years learning to open my OWN book, reading chapters I'd avoided, discovering pages I'd forgotten, and getting to know the woman beneath all those layers. And when I finally found Windi... WOW! What a beautifully fiery, passionate, loving woman she turned out to be, and I am STILL discovering her!

All of this from a RADISH, y'all! 😂
But that's the magick of where I am in life these days. It doesn't take some grand event or earth-shattering revelation to bring me back to gratitude. Sometimes it's a vegetable on a cutting board. Sometimes it's a conversation, a sunrise, a stranger's smile, or something I've walked past a hundred times before finally SEEING it.

I'm grateful for every experience and every lesson. Every unexpected surprise and even the uncomfortable chapters that taught me how to appreciate the beautiful ones.
I don't want to just exist in this life. I want to LIVE the hell out of it! Taste new things, feel deeply, laugh loudly, learn constantly, love wholeheartedly, and find magick in the most ordinary moments.
Because this wild, beautiful ride called LIFE I'm absolutely in LOVE with experiencing it!

So here's a little thought to carry with you today... Don't let the cover convince you that you already know the story. And don't be afraid to open your own book. You might just discover a whole lot of beautiful FIRE you never knew was there. 🔥
