Day 4 Five Days of Flowers
This piece " Nuts about Natives"
Was described in the brief as
Botanicals to be proud of
Arranged in Pottery
A tribute to the land
So with my busy hands I set to work to create these pieces.
Hanbuild by me....the clay is Toast and fired and glazed using a volcanic glaze
3 round vases complete with these wavy trays that looked to me as gum leaves.
Filled with a variety of native nuts from our region.
Flowers were designed simply using Waratahs, yellow kangaroo paw and White Wax.
Lined to connect the design with expanding packing paper.

Day 3 Five Days of Flowers
This was one of my very favourite designs.
I accepted the invitation to design this floral couture piece
" Beautifully Balanced "
Created with all sustainable foundations
Bamboo skewers for the structure
Agra Wool for the base
Paper and Dried Lavender flower to surround the design
Filled with fluffy lavender roses, white freesia, and Guilder Rose flower.
For me, this piece was something so elegant and lush.
To create the balance of the frame, precise construction is important.
The first time I made this, I had imperfect balance, and it toppled over.
I learnt by the mistake I made the first time, which was the construction and placement of the skewers.
I love how this tiny bird follows the flowers and the colours of his little feathers blend beautifully with the design.
Layered in fresh moss finished the design.
And this I feel would be lovely to send to your bride on her wedding day.
Weekend stay at a Retreat or for a Hotel Foyer Welcome Desk.
The dried lavender gives a sense of calm and to take a slow breath and enjoy.

Day 2 Five Days of Flowers. Springtime in the Garden.
This was my piece that encaptured orange and butterflies
It was always going to be a round parallel design and orange !
In the centre was my hand built fairy garden pottery piece. That I created at a clay workshop.
Complete with the fly catchers, the flowers were dahlias, helicrisum,Molucca Balm, moss, and the last of the season for ranuculas.
The gift was the butterflies enjoying the seasonal flowers in the garden. Captured by the nets to gather near the bottom of the garden.
