November 7th and 8th 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 I am taking part in the Clay Without Borders, Inc trail this year and I am opening up my studio which will have a treasure trove of pottery for sale! From dusty pots to warm pots right out of my gas kiln! My students are clearing out their practise pots to their master pieces! So you don’t want to miss out! This is going to be our biggest POTTERY SALE EVERRRR perfect timing for Christmas. Bring your boxes, bring your laundry baskets bring your running shoes 😂 don’t forget it’s 9-3pm NSW time! 🚨 LEGALLY POTTY IS LEAVING THE SHED 🚨
Against all advice from family members, financial advisors and several innocent bystanders, I will be exhibiting at Stoka Clay Studios for the Border Clay Trail Exhibition Weekend.

Not just me either. There’ll be some other ridiculously talented potters there, all displaying the sort of beautiful work that makes you question your own life choices.

Meanwhile I’ll be standing slightly off to the side saying things like “yes that handle survived the kiln somehow” and “I was also surprised that one worked”.

I always forget to remind everyone I do gift vouchers ☺️ I’m a marketing business genius thankfully they seem to sell themselves but while I’m currently sending off a few gift vouchers I figured I may as well remind you all 😀 so this is me reminding you all about my gift vouchers for the gift giving season approaching. We’ve been encouraged to consume — to have the latest thing, the newest trend, the next “it” piece — only to replace it almost as quickly as we found it.

But I’ve always loved collecting treasures from here, there and everywhere. Objects with a story, a history, a little bit of character. Things that don’t need to be perfect or new to be beautiful.

Maybe that’s why I love pottery so much.

It’s slow.

Slow to make. Slow to become. Slow to be replaced.

There’s something special about an object that has been made by hand — something that can be used every day, become part of your home, gather memories and perhaps one day be passed on to someone else.

In a world that constantly tells us to consume more and replace more, I love the idea of choosing slowly, making slowly and keeping the things that bring meaning to our lives.
