Not everything in your house has to be small. Bigger is always better. Ask any of the girls.
The most common mistake people make with wall art has nothing to do with the design. It is the size. Nearly everyone goes too small. They measure the wall, get nervous, and order the one that “won’t take over the room.” Then it arrives, goes up, and looks like a postage stamp.
Here is the rule. Art above a sofa or console should cover two thirds of the width of the furniture. Above a bed, in landscape - almost the width of the mattress. On its own wall, big enough that you do not need to walk up to it. If you are stuck between two sizes, the bigger one is the right one. Every time.
Small art makes a room look unfinished. The right size makes the same room look designed.
