A month of craftsmanship, coordination and coastal interior progress in just a few seconds.

The enormity of the work, coordination and craftsmanship happening onsite over the past few weeks has been incredible to watch, with so many moving parts all unfolding at once as this Yamba coastal home edges closer to completion.

Warm handmade zellige tiles are now wrapping the bathrooms and wash closet in rich tones, textured and perfectly imperfect like caramel Tim Tams in the light, while the kitchen cabinetry begins taking shape against tactile denim and soft grey finger tiles and semi textured stone surfaces.

Upstairs, the ensuite and kitchenette are tying beautifully back into the overall material palette, using the same tile family throughout the home in different colourways for cohesion and flow. Olive green tones in the kitchenette, warm travertine floors in the ensuite… absolutely divine.

Huge credit to and all the teams across cabinetry, tiling, painting and the beginning stages of fit off. The level of detail, problem solving and teamwork onsite has been something special to be part of.

Electrical fit off has now also begun with and there is so much more of this project still to share soon.

☕️ Next project taking shape… and again this one is deeply grounded in place.

A contemporary coastal cane field café shaped by the tones, textures and atmosphere of Yaegl Country, Northern Rivers… drawing from clay-rich earth, weathered materials, native flora, warm sunset light, river edges and the softened heritage patina of the built landscape around it.

At every project begins with a foundation in biomimicry… looking to the harmony, balance and tonal layering found in nature rather than chasing trends or over-designed spaces. The goal is always to create environments that feel calm, connected, tactile and quietly resolved.

This palette has evolved through warm blush clays, soft washed neutrals, cocoa and rust tones, handmade textures, natural timber and subtle tonal variation… creating a space intended to feel grounded, welcoming and enduring.

There’s a softness to this project… balanced with functionality, rhythm and material honesty. Refined but relaxed. Contemporary but familiar. A space designed to encourage people to slow down, gather, meet, work, pause and stay awhile.

The kind of space that quietly wraps around you… warm, layered and comforting like a gentle hug in interior form.

Somewhere you’ll want to sit, sip and stay a little longer… held by warmth, texture, light and atmosphere rather than clutter or excess.

Not themed… not overworked… just carefully distilled from the landscape and character that inspired it.

Final site walk-through for the year on the Yamba project.

The top-level cladding is go and it’s looking the goods.

Crisp lines, beautiful consistency, and a material choice that balances durability, sustainability, low maintenance and long-term performance … exactly as intended from the outset.

These site moments matter. They’re where drawings, decisions, and countless details resolve into something tangible… and where quality, craftsmanship, and material integrity really show.
