Letshaveayarn Lets Have A Yarn is a small batch handmade store selling crochet products. Custom requests are welcomed! My name is Bec, the face behind Lets Have A Yarn.

Some of the products you can expect to find are wearables, blankets, baby toys, household resuables, and gifts. I live in gorgeous Yass in regional NSW, Australia with my husband, two cats, and our dog. I love nothing more than crocheting lovely things for you all - and sometimes for myself too! I also love drinking bucket loads of tea (in fact I have one right now), gardening, reading, baking, rewatching the office for the 1000th time, talking to my pets, and chilling out with my hubby and loved ones. I am a self-taught crocheter, I love working with my hands and get so much joy from making things with yarn and putting love into every stitch. I consider it a privilege to be able to make useful and treasured things for people.

Possibly the hobby my brain has to work hardest at 🎹😮‍💨

Learning an instrument is hard. Learning an instrument as an adult is very hard. Both are very rewarding!

I don’t have hours a day to practice so progress is slow but it is still progress! Even the thought of playing this a year ago would have had me laughing that there was NO WAY.

Learning music has been one of the things I’ve found best for combating my perfectionism mindset. I HAVE to work at it. I can’t turn up to my lesson and wing it. I need to be persistent and not give up, and I also need to accept that I won’t be good at it right away and that hard work is worth doing.

These are the posts that make me feel the most nervous as it feels quite vulnerable. I think we can often feel that when we show up online that it needs to be complete, perfect, mastered, curated, and aesthetic. This definitely isn’t that and shows the unpolished, imperfect, slow, and desperate effort to concentrate. 😝 I wish I could pick it up faster but why wait until I have it all figured out before I share?

I’m not quite ready for wedding accompaniment 🤣

Bad bird photography is back and this time it’s soggy! 🦜📸

Getting absolutely soaked was ABSOLUTELY worth it to get to watch about a hundred Superb Parrots going about their business today!

I couldn’t believe my eyes! They blend into the grass so much I almost missed them 😮‍💨 I have only seen them once before so this was incredibly exciting.

🦜 Bird Fact: Superb Parrots are listed as a vulnerable species due to habitat loss from land clearing.

Bad bird photography is back for Wrensday! 🩵🥹😉

I love Superb Fairy Wrens and feel so lucky to see them most times I’m out in my garden. I love their musical little song and their tiny hops 🫶

👏 Honourable mentions for non-Wrens this Wednesday go to the Crimson Rosellas for always welcoming me to school pick up and being so vibrant and to the Grey Fantail who serenaded us at chook feeding time, what a lovely bird!

Slightly less terrible today as these tiny dudes were happy to visit the bird feeder with me fairly near by 🥹

🦜 Bird Fact: Red Browed Finches are social little birds travelling and feeding in groups of about ten or more.
