Safe as in...
This one started out as a safe painting.
Safe as in ... subdued colours
That others might like.
Safe as in ... no bold marks or gestures
Just keeping it small.
Safe as in ... staying in line of expectations.
Don't stand out.
Safe as in ... muted emotions and quiet corners.
Don't feel too much.
Safe as in ... fearing the chaos that is reality.
Don't rock the boat.
But my art is me and I'm not quiet. Not anymore.
I traded caution for crimson and whispers for gold.
I stopped painting what I thought you wanted.
I started painting what it feels like to let go.
And love me.
The boat has been rocked.
No more small gestures.
Pure. Unfiltered. Me.
