What began as a shared project between a dad and his teenage son quickly turned into something deeper — a connection to fire, steel, heritage, and each other.

It’s been a little while since we’ve posted.

The last several months brought a few unexpected challenges. Between recovering from an injury and navigating some personal matters, the forge had to slow down for a bit. Life has a way of reminding you that even steel has seasons.

The important thing is this: we’re back.

Ziggy and I have been putting in long hours at the forge, rebuilding our momentum, finishing orders, and working on some projects we’re excited to share with all of you. We’re still a little behind, but every day we’re getting closer to being fully caught up.

To everyone who has waited patiently, encouraged us, supported us, or simply stuck around—thank you. It means more than you know.

We started O’Boyle Steelworks because we believe a knife should be more than a tool. It should carry a story. That hasn’t changed.

There are a lot of new blades coming, new handle materials, new designs, and a few surprises along the way. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been building.

Here’s to fresh starts, hot steel, and the work ahead.

Strength. Story. Steel.

This Christmas set was made up of a kitchen knife and a camp knife, both forged from 1095 high-carbon steel with ironwood handles—built to be used and lived with, whether that’s around the stove or out in the woods.

To make it even more personal, we also created a custom set of coasters featuring their dogs, something just for them to enjoy every day. Those personal touches are one of the things we love most about custom work.

Working with Jessie to bring this set together was truly an honor and a pleasure. Being trusted to create something meaningful for a very special couple in Washington is something we never take lightly.

By the way check out .knorr.ceramics her ceramics are so amazing. My favorite mugs are ones she made- brilliant artist and a truly beautiful soul.

Strength. Story. Steel.
