Batho Bame , I discovered a whole new side of the Baseball this weekend! 🇧🇼⚾🔥

This weekend I went out to support Team Botswana 🇧🇼 at the WBSC Africa Baseball5 Youth Continental Qualifiers Southern Africa, hosted right here in Gaborone. Teams from Botswana, Lesotho, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe came together to compete for continental qualification.

For those who haven't seen it before, Baseball5 is a fast-paced five-a-side version of baseball/softball. No bats are used the game is played with a ball and relies heavily on speed, movement, teamwork and quick thinking. ⚾💨

It was great discovering another sporting code and, more importantly, supporting our national team. We may be a football-loving nation, but Botswana has so many other talented athletes competing in sports that don't always receive the same attention. 🇧🇼❤️

I always encourage people to attend and support these events whenever you can many of them are FREE. When I was younger and competing myself, seeing members of the public come out to support us always made our day and gave us extra motivation. Sometimes simply showing up means more to an athlete than we realise.

So next time you hear that Botswana is competing whether it's football, softball, athletics, baseball, karate or a sport you've never watched before go out and support our national colours! 🇧🇼🙌

Thank you to Botswana Softball Association, 🇧🇼 Botswana National Sport Commission and the Ministry of Sport And Arts Botswana for continuing to grow and support different sporting codes in Botswana.

Support Botswana Sport. Support our athletes. Discover something new. 🇧🇼🔥

I spoke with Mr Mawila, the award-winning sports photojournalist behind KillerPass, to talk about the gear behind his work.

In this video, he shows us the camera he currently uses a Canon 7D Mark II and talks us through the lenses and equipment he relies on for sports photography. We also ask him about his dream setup, which includes a canon R8 paired with a 600mm lens.

He also breaks down roughly how much his full camera setup costs and what it takes to work at a professional level in sports photojournalism.

Since we in Botswana don’t really know what an authentic French croissant is supposed to taste like 😂🇫🇷, I called in my Motswana/French mate who lives in France to put our local café croissant to the test! 🥐👀

Brought a French 🇫🇷 friend to review a Vida e Caffè croissant 🥐😂

Let’s see what he thinks! 🇧🇼🇫🇷

Guys, can we talk about SD card slots for a second? 😭📱💾

If our phones still had proper SD card slots, we could’ve taken the SD card straight out of the drone, put it into the phone and transferred the footage immediately.

But because our phones don’t have them, we had to download the DJI app and transfer everything through the drone system first. Luckily the drones were DJI, so we were still able to get the footage across to the Chinese team it just took a bit longer than expected 😂

That’s also why some of the drone videos you guys saw took a little time to come out.

Bring back SD card slots or nah? 👀

A little moment from the drone show that I completely forgot to post 😂🐉
While I was busy handing over some of the drone footage you guys have been seeing, my sister was behind me making her own content… apparently plotting to scare me 😭
The funniest part is that both our friends were recording at the exact same time, so we ended up with both sides of the story 😂🎥

This is what happens when you try to work with your siblings around 💀

Trying mooncake for the first time 🥮🇨🇳

I recently received this beautiful mooncake gift from the Chinese Association, and honestly, even the packaging deserves a review 😭🔥 So I had to taste it properly and give you guys my thoughts.

Also, let me know if you’d like to see more food content on the page. I’m thinking of giving each day its own theme:

Monday – Podcasts 🎙️
Tuesday – Politics & commentary 🗣️
Wednesday – Tech 🤖
Thursday – Car reviews 🚗
Food reviews – maybe Friday? 🍜🍰

Would you guys enjoy that kind of weekly content schedule? Let me know what you want to see more of 👇🏽

Batho bame 😭❤️ to everyone who came up to me at the drone show, thank you so much! I really appreciated all the love. 🙏🏽
Unfortunately, I injured my hand while flying, so if I couldn't shake your hand or properly greet you, this was the reason 😭🩹

Safe to say I literally gave a little blood to this event 😂🚁 But jokes aside, drone safety is extremely important. Always follow safety procedures, maintain a safe distance and don't attempt risky manoeuvres without proper training.

Thank you for all the love and support Botswana 🇧🇼❤️
⚠️ Minor injury shown.
