I recently posted a video about the recessed cavities in a project in Belcarra just outside Coquitlam. You can see in the pictures that the bottom of the brush pile neatly aligns with the bottom of the enclosed cavity. This is a perfect example of how to create openings that appear to have finished beam supporting the roof, but what you don't see are the hidden Phantom screens inside the beam profiles. This gives the coveted 'WOW' factor of the Phantom recessed motorized screens!!

We are back on site at the Belcarra location just outside Coquitlam. Many roof lines have an open triangle at the top. About a year ago, we found a Phantom distributor out of Edmonton who manufacture screens that match the Phantom brand that can be built to fill in the top triangle. The mesh can be stretched inside the tracks to create a very clean finish. The client is absolutely thrill with the whole project.

Details. I love the details.

When asked to screen a deck with Victorian style posts, I had two options: cable guided to avoid the profile or standard and work with the profile. Given the wind issues in the area, the standard tracks would be necessary. We decided to build out the back side of the side tracks with foam which allows us to both show the profile and have the function of side tracks.
