Several people caught the little moss culture hiding behind the Begonia Lehmanni yesterday and asked about them!
While I don't expect any of these three mosses to be available until next fall, I am having success with them.
The first one is quite large, and was just named Ecuador Silver. It does not slurry well, nor does it grow very fast but it does grow consistently, and does well in a wide variety of lighting.
The moss featured in the third photo is thinner and does well in higher light conditions. As you can see from the photo it gets a bit leggy in lower light but it still grows fine. Care and cultivation seems to be the same as E Silver.
The third is an Octoblepharum species that I'm finding does incredibly well in all different lighting in my show terrarium. I've got it growing among the leaf litter, 14 inches from the light, and 5 inches from the light among the orchids. The trick to this one is that it requires very high airflow to succeed.
