The blocks are painted on premium plywood using outdoor paint and sealed with a clear weather-proof varathane. Barn Quilts were designed to represent familial heritage and have become quite popular over the last couple of decades. Even though they’ve been around since the 17th century, barn quilts continue to tell stories about family traditions and symbolize a creative journey that takes the viewer on a road trip through time. These quilt blocks can be found in communities, at historical events and even as a memorial piece honouring loved ones. While some prefer to create a traditional quilt block design, others have been known to create a favourite animal or company logo. There are no limits to creativity and can be customized to your preferences. Sizes are based on the surface you wish to display your creation and can range from one-foot square displayed on porches, to the quilts on barns that usually measure eight-feet square so they can be viewed from a distance. Working together, your hand painted quilt block is created based on your colour and design preferences. It is painted on premium plywood using outdoor paint with UV protectant for durability, fading and wear; then sealed with an outdoor Varathane for all weather protection. Three colours are included in the price with an additional charge per colour based on size and pattern. A non-refundable deposit is required on every custom order.
