Tales of Wonder: the art of Marianne Strasser Descended from Vikings, pirates, and sea captains, I paint with vivid colours of my tropical home.

I sometimes use neon and glow pigments to tuck "secret pictures" into my work, revealing the extraordinary magic hidden in the everyday.

Painting BIG is fun! It's been a while since I've painted sets. This is 4'x8' for The Wizard of Oz.

Today I'm a thoracic surgeon. Yessir. Mr Whale lost his voice quite sometime ago and was undiagnosed and untreated. Expert examination indicated he was suffering from a collapsed lung. Fortunately, it is easily cured with correct treatment. Major surgery was performed under the close supervision and very vocal encouragement of his best friend, Naga the husky. 20 minutes later, they are sleeping comfortably.
