🎨 A fan of stain samples fanned out over a rich, dark floor. This is where the real decision-making happens, and it's a lot more interesting than picking a colour off a screen. The existing floor's warm brown tones show you exactly how each new stain will react to this species and grain. We always say: see it on your actual floor before you commit.

🔥 That intricate parquet pattern meeting the base of a grey marble fireplace is the kind of detail that makes you stop mid-room and just look down. Each small block in that floor was hand-set to create a repeating geometric pattern that no prefinished product can replicate. This is what custom wood flooring actually looks like; it's not just a species and a stain, but a design.

🍂 There's a reason freshly refinished oak looks so good in October. The warm, honey tone of the wood mirrors exactly what's happening outside right now. This living room went from tired to timeless with a sand and refinish, and the shine on that floor says everything about the quality of the finish coat. A good floor doesn't ask for much attention; it just quietly makes the whole room better.

🌫️ A cool, grey-washed wide plank floor is one of those choices that photographs beautifully. It hides the everyday without hiding the wood grain underneath. This open-plan kitchen is still mid-build, but the floor has already set the whole tone of the space. Everything that comes after it will respond to this.

🪵 Herringbone in a bathroom takes twice the layout time and twice the precision of a standard install. Every plank has to meet its neighbour at exactly the right angle, or the whole pattern falls apart. You can already see where this one's going, and it's going somewhere good. Patience on the install side makes all the difference in the finished result.

👉 Save this one for your own reno inspiration.

🪵 This floor has something to say for itself. The natural variation in colour from plank to plank is what makes site-finished hardwood feel alive rather than manufactured. The character underneath any stain isn't going anywhere.

👉 Curious what a natural or lightly stained finish could look like in your home?
