Six weeks ago we started with one post about plastic never really going away.

Here is what changed for the people who picked just one swap and stuck with it, in their words. Swipe through.

Refill is the least exciting word we use. It does not sound like a big change, and that is exactly why it works.

Keep the handle, the bottle, the dish. Replace only the part that runs out. It is the swap with the least friction and, over a year, one of the ones that actually adds up.

Hosting does not require single-use anything.

Cloth napkins instead of paper. The dishes you already own instead of disposable plates. A compost bin by the door for scraps instead of the garbage. Nobody at the table will notice the swaps. They will notice there is less to throw away after.

Every order, every reorder, every message from someone who tried one bar and switched over completely. That is what we are grateful for this year.

Thank you for choosing something plastic-free when the easier option was sitting right next to it on the shelf.

Before you run out of everything at once, here is what is worth reordering this weekend.

Swipe for the three things that quietly run out fastest, so you are restocking on your schedule, not scrambling on theirs.

Cellulose sponges get all the attention. Loofah is the other plant-based option, and it barely comes up.

It is a gourd, grown and dried, not manufactured. It scrubs a little rougher than cellulose, which makes it good for pans, and it composts completely when it is finished.

You do not need a zero-waste home. You need one drawer that is actually sorted.

Pick the one that annoys you most, the one with three half-used sponges and a tangle of produce bags, and fix only that. Small, contained, done by dinner.

"Natural" on a cleaning product label is not a regulated claim. It can mean one plant-derived ingredient in a bottle of everything else.

The actual list is on the back, not the front. Swipe for a few names worth knowing before you trust a front label at face value.

"Eco-friendly." "Natural." "Green." None of those words are regulated. A company can put them on anything.

Greenwashing is not always an outright lie. Usually it is just vague enough to sound responsible without saying anything you could check. The fix is not cynicism, it is specifics: what is it made of, where does it go when you are done with it, and does the company say so plainly.

If a brand cannot answer those three questions, the label is doing the talking, not the product.
