🎈 THINGS I MIGHT SAY “NO” TO AS YOUR BALLOON ARTIST ❗️
Sometimes being a balloon artist means being the fun police 😂 But if I tell you I don’t recommend something, there’s usually a reason:
🎈 Filling balloons ordered from Temu, SHEIN, Amazon, AliExpress, etc: Especially foils! Quality can be SUPER unpredictable. I’ve experienced cheap foils that leak, won’t seal properly, pop while filling… and yes, even balloons that literally float upside down because the weight and design are completely off. 😂 If I’m putting my name on it, I want to know it’s going to work!
🎈 Using balloons you purchased yourself: Even if they look identical online, balloon quality varies tremendously. I use brands I know and trust because I know how they inflate, how long they last and how they photograph.
🎈 Trying to perfectly colour-match a photo from Pinterest: I can get close, but balloon colours photograph differently depending on lighting, surroundings and even what colours they’re beside. Sometimes the Pinterest inspo has also been edited!
🎈 Putting balloons somewhere Mother Nature clearly doesn’t want balloons 😂: Full sun, extreme heat, freezing temperatures, high winds and rain can all affect balloons. If I recommend moving something or changing the design, there’s a reason.
🎈 A giant outdoor installation with nothing safe to anchor it to: Pretty is important. Not watching your balloon garland sail across the parking lot is more important. 😂
🎈 Helium balloons outdoors on a windy day: Unless you’re going for possessed balloons fighting for their lives as the aesthetic.
🎈 Making a design WAY smaller than the inspiration while expecting the same look: That giant organic Pinterest arch might contain hundreds of balloons. Removing 75% of them changes the final result — there’s only so much balloon math can do. 😂
🎈 Recreating another balloon artist’s work EXACTLY: Absolutely bring inspiration! But I’d rather take the colours/theme/vibe you love and create something specifically for your event.
🎈 Last-minute elaborate installs
Balloons may look effortless when they’re finished, but sourcing colours, ordering specialty balloons, prepping, inflating, building, transporting and installing everything takes TIME.
Basically, if your balloon artist says “I wouldn’t recommend that…” we’re not trying to ruin the vision. We’ve just probably already learned that lesson the hard way. 😂🎈
