This year was tough. So many changes and the struggles that go along with them.

Another year of watching children die through the glass, separated families, political division and the erosion of human rights. Talk of war and invasion and vassal states and moving parallel lines and tariffs and $100 bags of groceries. Extra curriculars, missed school busses, long drives, mountains of dishes and broken bones. I feel weary.

It had some beautiful moments too. A return to England and old friends, a misty Uclulet getaway, a graduation and new pottery handles. A planned trip to do pottery in France. The kids continue to transform in front of my eyes while I quietly worry about their future, and for the first time in my life, that it might not be a safe place to visit. I want to learn how to turn away from it all. Sew, knit, bake, paint, throw, dig, dance. Touch what is real and in front of me, only.

So more change this year then, because I’m intent on it feeling different than the last one. More art, less digital noise, less self inflicted pressure, less measuring. More books. More slow cooked meals, long dinners with the kids. Creating. Taking on what I can and forgetting the rest.

May 2026 hold healing, and justice. Reunion. And a restructuring towards the good parts of being human. And of course, lots and lots of toast. See you there.

It was a long but beautiful day at the Creston Artisan Market.

It feels great to see my pots head to their new homes, but even better to make new friends and catch up with old ones.

I had a lot of fun with this batch. I was pushed out of my comfort zone a little and it felt good to extend my creativity away from the wheel.
