Starting on my next project! This time I’m doing a blend of mohair and wool. The mohair (which is from angora goats) is really different to work with, it’s quite a different texture from the wool, very much like hair, and if you’re not careful it gets really tangled like hair. It’s so soft and silky though and adds a really beautiful feel!
I’m already thinking about what color I want to dye this 🤔

Yesterday I was able to spend some time with a good friend and she taught me how to card wool to get it ready for spinning.
I am always so impressed with her knowledge and I cherish the time that I am able to spend with her soaking up all her wisdom! ❤️
I also am beginning to see just how much work goes into making yarn, from beginning to end. It’s incredible! I’ll never take it for granted again!
Now I am set with a new bag or roving (carded wool ready for spinning), and I can’t wait to spend some quality time with the spinning wheel!

Mini chocolate fondues for treat tonight! My kids thought they were in heaven! (I didn’t mention how much chocolate I ate while it was melting 😂)
I think the bananas are my favourite for chocolate fondue.

Once a month I take one of my kids out for a lunch date. It gives us some lovely one on one time together that is sometimes hard to find in a big family.
This time we went to for some tea and butter chicken. Yum! 😋

Dinner at our house is my favourite time of day (other than bedtime of course)! I love when we all gather around the table to share delicious food and talk about our days. I know I’m going to miss that so much when my kids grow up, but for now I’ll just enjoy it.
My hubby made a delicious sweet pulled pork salad tonight for dinner. It was Sooo good I just had to share! 😋

My knitting project is coming along! I’ve learned a few things about knitting in the last couple weeks. 1. It takes a lot longer than I’m used to 😂 Probably because the stitches are so small. I’m sure if I used bigger needles it would go faster, but this is the same size of crochet hook I usually use and my projects go very quickly. 2. I absolutely love the tightness of the stitches! They are beautiful and warm! 3. Knitting is actually very relaxing (once you get the hang of it and you’re not doing anything tricky 😂)
Next I need to work on learning some different stitches, but so far so good.

I was dropping off my son at the sledding hill tonight and as I turned to go I looked around and realized how truly beautiful it was outside.
In that moment it was so quiet and peaceful, right in the middle of this huge bustling city.
It can be easy to get a little blue in the winter, with the cold and seemingly perpetual darkness, but it moments like these that make me appreciate this place ❄️☃️

I don’t get to see my sisters very often, which can be really hard, but we managed to sneak down to southern AB for just a couple days before we had to race back so Mark could clear snow. (I have a serious love/ hate relationship with snow)
It was so great to be able to get together with all my sisters! I seriously have so many memories of our childhood that come racing back when I’m with them, lol!
Now, between the 4 of us we have 15 kids, so things can get a bit rowdy 😂
Luckily we planned this get together at the trampoline park. It worked out perfect!
So grateful for family ❤️❤️

Ive always been a crochet lover. For some reason it just makes more sense in my mind. I can formulate patterns and make the yarn do exactly what I want it to, but I’ve decided that I need to branch out, get out of my comfort zone a bit, and try knitting. 😆
My sweet boy bought me some knitting needles for Christmas, so this holiday my goal is to at least get the basics down of knitting.
