Your vehicle interior doesn’t always need replacing — sometimes it just needs restoring.

For many car owners, faded carpet, stained floor mats, worn upholstery, discoloured headliners, and tired-looking interior trims can make an otherwise beautiful vehicle feel neglected.

From classic cars and tuner builds to daily drivers, RVs, boats, and specialty vehicles, we can help restore or change the colour of:

Automotive carpets
Floor mats
Upholstery
Headliners
Interior trims
Panels and textile surfaces

Whether the goal is to refresh the original look, repair faded or stained areas, or create a bold custom colour transformation, automotive dyeing can be a cost-effective alternative to full replacement.

The right restoration can make a major difference in the look and feel of your vehicle — without tearing everything out and starting from scratch.

Don’t replace it. Restore it.

Some fruits do more than stain your carpet — they can actually dye it.

Fruit stains can be tricky because many fruits contain natural pigments that can bond to carpet fibres, especially if they are left untreated or cleaned the wrong way.

Some of the most common fruit stains we see come from:

Blueberries
Cherries
Blackberries
Raspberries
Pomegranate
Grapes
Strawberries
Mango
Tomato
Fruit juice and smoothies

These stains often look bright red, purple, blue, orange, or brown. And the longer they sit, the harder they can be to remove.

What should you do first?

Start by gently removing any solid fruit pieces. Then blot the area with a clean white towel and cold water. Always work from the outside of the stain toward the centre to avoid spreading it.

Avoid scrubbing, hot water, and harsh cleaners. These can push the pigment deeper, damage the fibre, or even cause colour loss.

For many fruit stains, a mild cleaning solution or proper spot treatment may help. But if the pigment has already bonded to the carpet, the issue may no longer be just a stain — it may become a colour correction problem.

That is where Can Dye Carpets approaches it differently.

We look at the fibre, the type of stain, the remaining colour, and whether the area needs cleaning, stain removal, colour correction, or restoration.

Because sometimes the goal is not just removing the fruit stain.

It is making the carpet look natural again.

Blood stain on carpet? Hydrogen peroxide can help — but use it carefully.

Hydrogen peroxide is commonly used for blood stains because it helps break down organic staining. But it can also lighten or discolour some carpet fibres, especially wool, silk, natural fibres, or darker carpets.

Before using it, always test a small hidden area first.

Step-by-step guide:

Use cold water first
Blot the stain gently with a clean white towel and cold water. Never use hot water, as heat can set the stain.
Remove as much as possible
Blot from the outside of the stain toward the centre. Do not scrub, because scrubbing can spread the stain and damage the carpet fibres.
Apply hydrogen peroxide carefully
Use 3% hydrogen peroxide. Apply a small amount directly to the stained area or onto a clean white towel, then gently blot.
Let it react briefly
You may see light bubbling. Let it sit for a short time, then blot the area again with a clean towel.
Rinse with cold water
After the stain starts lifting, blot the area with cold water to help remove remaining peroxide and residue.
Extract or dry the area
Use a wet/dry vac if available, or blot with a dry towel. Allow the area to dry completely.
Check for remaining colour
If a mark remains after cleaning, it may need professional stain treatment, colour correction, or carpet restoration.

At Can Dye Carpets, we always look beyond the stain itself. Some marks are removable through cleaning, while others may leave behind colour loss or discolouration that requires restoration.

Cleaning removes the stain.
Colour restoration helps bring the carpet back to a natural-looking finish.

Why did your carpet turn brown after cleaning?

Sometimes, the problem is not dirt — it is chemistry.

One issue we often see at Can Dye Carpets is cellulosic browning, which can happen when moisture, old residues, jute backing, high-pH products, or slow drying cause yellow/brown discolouration to rise to the surface of a carpet or rug.

That is why some carpets and rugs can look worse after a standard cleaning, even when they were professionally cleaned.

At Can Dye Carpets, we treat browning differently.

We do not just add more cleaning solution or scrub harder. We assess the fibre, backing, moisture history, and colour shift to understand what actually happened.

For certain browning and yellowing issues, we use our exclusive treatment solution along with controlled UV light treatment to help neutralize, correct, and restore the affected areas.

Because browning is not always a cleaning problem.

Sometimes, it is a colour restoration problem.

Not all carpet cleaning is created equal.

One of the biggest issues we see in the industry is overuse of soap-based cleaning solutions during deep cleaning.

When too much product is used — and not properly rinsed or extracted — the carpet can be left with residue. That residue can create problems homeowners notice very quickly:

Crusty or stiff carpet fibres
Carpet that feels sticky or rough after drying
Rapid re-soiling shortly after cleaning
Dull-looking carpet
Uneven colour or discolouration in some cases

The frustrating part is that the carpet may look “clean” at first, but the leftover residue starts attracting soil again. Before long, the carpet looks dirty faster than it should.

In some situations, aggressive chemicals, high alkalinity, or improper cleaning methods can even affect the carpet’s colour.

At Can Dye Carpets, we see carpets and rugs from a restoration point of view. Cleaning is important, but it needs to be done carefully, with the right chemistry, proper rinsing, and respect for the carpet fibre.

If your carpet feels crunchy, sticky, or looks dirty again shortly after being cleaned, that is a red flag.

And if a cleaner’s solution is “more soap, more product, more chemical” without proper rinse and extraction?

Run the other way.

Your carpet does not just need to look clean for a day. It needs to be cared for properly so it stays clean, soft, and beautiful longer.

How much does it really cost to replace 1,000 sq. ft. of carpet in Canada?

For many homeowners, the price can add up quickly once you include carpet, underpad, labour, removal, disposal, furniture moving, stairs, and taxes.

Here is a simple comparison for 1,000 sq. ft.:

Low-quality carpet replacement: approx. $3,000–$5,000 CAD
Mid-quality carpet replacement: approx. $4,500–$9,500 CAD
High-quality carpet replacement: approx. $8,000–$14,000+ CAD

Now compare that to professional carpet colour restoration:

Can Dye Carpets full room carpet dyeing: $1,999 CAD for up to 1,000 sq. ft.

That means homeowners could potentially save thousands by restoring the carpet they already have instead of replacing it.

If your carpet is still in good structural condition but looks faded, stained, bleached, sun-damaged, or outdated, replacement may not be your only option.

At Can Dye Carpets, we focus on restoring colour, refreshing the appearance, and giving homeowners a brand-new carpet look without brand-new carpet pricing.

Less waste. Less disruption. Lower cost. A refreshed home.

Before you replace, consider colour restoration.

Did you know a large portion of carpet coming into Canada is imported from the U.S.?

With tariffs, exchange rates, freight, labour, removal, disposal, and installation costs all adding up, Canadian homeowners could be looking at significantly higher carpet replacement prices — in some cases, up to 40% more.

That means replacing carpet may no longer be the most cost-effective option.

At Can Dye Carpets, we offer a smarter alternative: professional carpet colour restoration.

Instead of ripping out carpet that is still structurally usable, we restore the colour, correct fading, refresh worn-looking areas, and help give your home a brand-new carpet look without the full replacement price.

This is especially valuable for homeowners dealing with:

• Faded carpet
• Bleach spots
• Sun damage
• Stains and discolouration
• Outdated carpet colours
• Pre-sale home refreshes

Before spending thousands more on replacement, consider restoration first.

At Can Dye Carpets, we don’t just clean carpets — we restore colour, extend carpet life, and help homeowners save money.
