The peg holes trace the island’s main road, with carved landmarks marking the way, it makes each game a walk through home for this resident. Made with maple wood from just over the bay in the Annapolis Valley.

Creating these two live-edge pine side tables was a special endeavor. The client selected the pine rounds from her mother's property, to have them transformed into functional furniture that carry cherished memories and a sentimental value.

The design embraced minimalism, allowing the natural, rustic charm of the live-edge pine to take center stage. Sleek, black powder-coated hairpin legs provided a modern contrast, harmonizing perfectly with the natural warmth of the wood.

To enhance durability and accentuate the wood's character, the cracks in the pine were stabilized with meticulously crafted bowtie inlays and filled with a clear epoxy pour. A topcoat of clear epoxy was generously applied and buffed with our favourite Walrus Oil Furniture Wax.

Danish cord is a premium material used to create strong and durable seats and backrests for furniture, particularly seen in high-end Scandinavian and Mid-Century Modern designs. Danish cord weaving is a skilled and time-consuming craft. The time required depends on the total area to be woven and the complexity of the pattern, with items typically taking between 4 to 25 hours to complete.

Despite its strength and durability, Danish cord can be susceptible to damage from pets, prolonged exposure to weather, and old age. If the cord becomes loose, snaps, or is cut, we recommend having it replaced.
