April showers bring calling birds! 🐦‍⬛ Here is my Colly Bird front, back, hanging out with Maya's bird, and the whole set... so far!

My embroidery is definitely getting better, and I love the felt colours I chose this month. Can't wait to start my golden ring 💛

I don't really like pink. I don't remember deliberately buying pink fabric. But somehow I have a LOT of it, in lots of different shades and patterns.

Here are days 19-27 of making wonky rose blocks for the 100 Day Project. I'm halfway through the next set of nine pink roses - but still way behind! I think everyone else is up to day 45... Can anyone confirm this?

The 2026 100 Day Project, days 1-9 ~ Sewing roses from my scrap bins.

It makes sense to me to work in colour order, so I tackled the yellow fabric first. There is still lots more, but let's start with 9 blocks

Some projects carry a little extra weight in the very best way.

This memory quilt was made for Ruth, using her mother Betty’s clothing — alongside two others created for Betty’s granddaughters. The girls’ quilts were each uniquely their own, with her garments lovingly divided between them.
Ruth’s quilt holds something different. It includes pieces from each of the girls’ quilts, bringing them together again, along with a few extra fabrics that were especially meaningful to Betty. A quiet gathering of memories in one place.

The heart patch was hand-embroidered by my daughter Maya — and that detail turned out to be more special than we could have imagined. Ruth has known Maya since she was small, so having her stitches included in this quilt felt like a full-circle moment. One generation honoring another.

These are the quilts that remind me why I do this work. It’s not just fabric. It’s connection, continuity, and love that keeps showing up in new ways.
Thank you, Ruth, for trusting us with your mom’s story. 💗

Some people scrapbook.
Some people save ticket stubs.
We sew patches onto a leather vest.

On each road trip we will collect another one — Mackinac Bridge, Manitoulin Swing Bridge — places we’ve crossed together. 📍

It makes me laugh a bit because this is basically his version of a memory quilt. Same idea, different materials. Leather instead of cotton. Patches instead of tshirts.

Memory keeping doesn’t have to look one way. This is ours.

This quilt was made for Jenna — Betty’s granddaughter.

Jenna lives out of town, and her quilt was finished and delivered in December before her sister and mother's, so she could have it at home with her for Christmas. She was very close with her grandmother, and as a nurse, she was also able to support her family through Betty’s final stages of care. That connection shaped how thoughtfully I approached this one.

When designing the quilt, her mother and I worked carefully through colour selection, to make the quilt personal for Jenna. I then settled on layout and fabric placement to make sure the pieces felt balanced and true to her grandmother. Each granddaughter’s quilt received an equal share of clothing, but the designs were unique — tailored to the person receiving them. I shared Emily's quilt a few posts back, the cool green and blue beauty 💙
That’s always part of my process: sorting, dividing, and then designing with intention so the finished quilt feels personal, not random.

I hope this one brings Jenna a sense of closeness, wherever she is. 💕
