On February 28th, our team at Tenaquip lost our Preferred Brands Manager, Trevor — a leader, mentor, and dear friend to many of us.
Trevor was a rare and wonderful combination of strong leadership and pure goofball. He had this incredible way of making people feel supported while also making them laugh when they needed it most. The weeks since his passing have been filled with the natural ups and downs of grief as our team continues to process the loss of someone who meant so much to us.
In the middle of all of this, my cubicle mate Sean — who is delightfully quirky in the best possible way — surprised me with this little plush chick to brighten my day. A small gesture, but one that carried a lot of heart.
It reminded me that a workplace is so much more than a place where we simply work. It’s where real connections are built. It’s where people show up for one another in quiet, meaningful ways. It’s where kindness and humanity truly matter.
You can read every leadership book or plan endless team-building activities, but what truly makes a team strong is heart, empathy, and genuine care for the people around you.
Trevor embodied that spirit every day. And in many ways, it’s the kindness he modeled that continues to live on in our team.
Grateful for colleagues like Sean and for the compassion that carries us forward at Tenaquip. 💛
