☀️🌾 Beaded Winter Dream Sweetgrass Sunstars🌾☀️
Done by sister beader - unavailable as they were a Christmas gift order and a favourite design 🤩. Have some extra small sweetgrass braids from this so will have to do more again, but no orders as still have a busy schedule & bead when able - Catriona
Details:
Mini Sweetgrass braids surrounded size 10 seed beads in a sunstar design in galaxy blue, silver and pearl colours with a crystal centre.
Backed on black leather and has a pe**te-stitch edging in black & silver size 10 seed beads. On kidney hooks but swapped for clasps when given (along with kidney ones just in case) and measures about 2.5” in diameter and drops 3”.

Throwback to a little of my beading; some fave sweetgrass sunstar earrings — will need to do a drop by end of 2025.
I’ve done one workshop in the last 6-7 months with discussion/legal info at first and plan to get more of that in order to be readily available — and finish more stethoscopes as I have 2 & did one this passed summer 🥰 So if anyone wants a beading circle sesh in Wpg let me know 😊

Should keep a pair for the IBA but will try to do a flower pair for myself before then, so posting these and another couple sun stars soon on Monias Beads ☀️ The beading page I have with my sisters (mom’s maiden name) & it’s usually work by Niamh & I but Siobhan & Roisin also do some work 🥰 & our mom of course, where we got our bead blood memory from 💕....& also from our late kookim Sarah Jane Monias, as well as our other kookims & aunties; some of which we share styles with & their work gifted to us as kids ❤️

“Had a great birthday today — which began with some meetings followed by a special event, the St. Theresa Point Ansininew Nation Education Authority summer professional development—Ansininew Kikonohamakewin, our community & where our maternal family is from ❤️
My sister Roisin & I live in and are based out of Winnipeg as a ObGyn (doctor) and lawyer (in sole practice), respectively, and connect with our family and community a lot so were asked to speak at this event…but Rosh is away & .dooley16 was available to come in from Calgary to share her story as a chemical engineer and her path 🥰 I also mentioned baby sis Niamh and her artwork and our workshops as well, and her BFA — we cover a few sectors lol
It was special to have so many familiar faces and relations and others who came to say hi after we talked about our journeys from elementary to high school to post-secondary (teacher audience & some of our former councillors at STPEA) and who we went to go see as well, as we do have people we need to say hi to 💕 Thanks to my older sisters/cousins Gwen, Lorraine & Karen for being there today, too, as well as mom
Thanks- Miigwetch for having us and for the birthday wishes and my new little girl 💜 she’s so cute and have a place for her in my office along with other items gifted ❤️

Recent done by sister beader . This was a special local order made some time ago for a new medical school grad (congrats!) and not available, and not currently taking orders but do have some extras that may be beaded within the next year 😊
Details: Littmann III stethoscope in raspberry beaded with side 10 seed beads with fire line thread with beading at the base, centre and split at top. Done in a flower pattern with requested purple florals and design to reflect floral beadwork 🌺🌿
We hope this went over well and the 20+ hrs spent on it was well worth it 🥰

In May sister beader ended up doing some sewing and got some new regalia out for her oldest son Aidan who has grown about 6 inches since his last set from a few years ago ☺️
A few pictures of the new regalia with his beadwork mainly by but Lac Seul FN -Obishkokaang medallion done by his dad’s cousin Coral Chisel 🥰
Then a few pics from outside Manito Ahbee where Declan, her youngest, wore his regalia that was made last year and attended with mom and her cousin/his uncle Qualan ☺️
