Another day of canning going down around here! Had to run out for some more vinegar yesterday.

Today I am working on pickled red onions, apple sauce for my personal pantry, and more beets.

Kennie's Farm Market is my go to for so many veggies!

If you've tried my sweet pickled beets, pickled green beans, dill carrots, chow or strawberry jam, you're eating their produce.

I want to say thank you today to all the hard working people who make me so excited to preserve so many wonderful fruits and vegetables!

Most vegetables are sourced locally through farms and vendors such as Kennie's Farm Market New Minas and the Wolfville Farmers' Market. Kennie's prices can't be beat, and neither can the quality of the produce, or the great customer service. I also learned their vegetables are grown as close as 3km away from where I live. Talk about local!

This summer and fall I've bought more Boates Farm apple c***r vinegar than any sane person would, from Noggins Corner Farm. Boates apple c***r vinegar is a cut above when it comes to flavour, and again it is grown so close to home. And Noggins, I found them right when we moved here almost 4 years ago and was smitten right away.

Growing up in Toronto, local meant something different than it does to me here. I feel such a connection with the produce I have available to me. I am so lucky to call this place home.

This is just a short list of the wonderful humans that make my dreams possible. Thank you to them, and many more!

Salsa season is here!

I'm so proud of my salsa recipe, it is my favourite item I can! Red, yellow and orange bell pepper replace traditional green peppers to help give an overall amazing flavour to the salsa.
