Soul Sweetener

Why do humans keep
doing the very things that
hurt them?

That's really what
Proverbs 13 is about.

We all want joy.
Peace.
Fulfillment.

But we sometimes cling
harder to what feels good
in the moment than what
is actually good for our
soul.

"A desire accomplished is
sweet to the soul: but it is
abomination to fools to
depart from evil."

Proverbs 13:19

When Faith Feels Tired

I think one of the quietest
dangers in life is
forgetting.

Forgetting unanswered
prayers.
Forgetting how many
times we survived.
Forgetting mercy.
Forgetting grace.

Psalm 103 feels deeply
human to me because
David isn't panicking or
hiding here... he's
speaking inwardly. Almost
reminding his own soul
who God is after
everything he's lived
through.

This article became a
reflection on exhaustion,
forgiveness, failure,
compassion, survival, and
remembering God's
goodness when life wears
us down.

The Dream That Shook Babylon

Imagine being the most
powerful king on earth...
and being terrified by a
dream you cannot
understand.

In Daniel 2, Babylon appears
unstoppable -
wealthy, powerful,
untouchable. but behind
palace walls, King
Nebuchadnezzar lies
awake, shaken by
something no army can
defeat.

When the wise men fail
and panic spreads
through the kingdom, a
young exile named Daniel
quietly turns to prayer.

What follows becomes
one of the most
astonishing moments in
Scripture:
a dream revealing the rise
and fall of kingdoms... and
a mysterious stone that
outlasts them all.

This chapter feels
surprisingly relevant:
human power
looks permanent...
until suddenly it isn't.

Living inside Babylon

Babylon did not destroy
Daniel all at once.

It slowly tried to
reshape him.

New names.
New education.
New culture.
New pressures to
blend in.

Daniel 1 is about identity,
quiet conviction, and learning
how to live faithfully
inside a culture trying to
redefine everything
around you.

Wisdom That Notice What Others Ignore

Sometimes growth isn't
becoming louder.

Sometimes it's simply
noticing more.

Patterns
Motives.
Contradictions.

Not because you
became cynical -
because your eyes adjusted
to truth.

The Hidden Treasure Hunt That Changes Everything.

Wisdom begins when a person admits:

Maybe I don't see
everything clearly.

Pride resists correction.

Wisdom welcomes it.

God guides the teachable,
but pride blinds people.

Part X - The Covenant That Changed Everything

Most people skip over Genesis 15 without
realizing how enormous it
actually is.

This wasn't just about land
Or descendants.

It was about redemption.
after Babel...
and God beginning a plan
to bring the nations back.

And the strangest part?

In the covenant
ceremony,
Abraham never walks
between the pieces.

God alone does.

Ever notice how things
can feel hardest right
when the weren't even that bad?

Like you were doing
okay...trying...holding
things together...
and then something
shifts or gets taken away.

I always thought pruning
was for the struggling
parts.

But John 15:2 says even
the branches that are
already producing get cut
back.

That made me stop.

Maybe not everything
that feels like loss is
actually loss.

Maybe some of it
is shaping.

I wrote about this today--
it hit closer than I
expected.

There's a moment in John 13
that changes everything.

"Satan entered Judas..."

And from there, it looks like
darkness is taking over.

Jesus is betrayed.
The plan moves forward.
The cross is coming.

Did Satan actually know
what he was doing?

Did he think he was winning?
or did he walk straight into
something he didn't understand?

And what about Judas...
Did he have a choice?

This one goes deeper than
the surface story.
It's not loud--but it's not
light either.

When Darkness entered the Room

It starts quietly--Jesus
washing feet.
But underneath it...
something else is
happening.

A shift.
A tension in the room.
And a moment that
changes everything.

One line stuck with me:
"And it was night."

Not just the time of day.

Something deeper.

If you've never really sat
with this chapter, it might
surprise you.

When we asked for a ruler.

Funny how patterns don't
really go away.

People once asked for
a king--
not because they had to,
but because they wanted
to fit in.

They were warned what it
would cost.

Still said yes.

Makes you think.

What is the cost?
