There's something special about seeing an older piece again and remembering how it made you feel creating it. 🤍

INTO THE WOODS - 2017

I painted this piece almost 10 years ago and gifted it to my mom. While visiting her, I found myself standing in front of it again...and remembering just how much I loved this one.

So much has changed in my art since 2017 - different mediums, textures, techniques and directions - but this piece still feels like me. The movement, the trees, the little bursts of color and that feeling of being drawn deeper into the woods.

Sometimes revisiting our older work is such a beautiful reminder of where we started, how far we've come, and the little pieces of ourselves that have been there all along.🌿

I have to admit, I sure do miss being surrounded by the rainforest out my back door.

There's something about the messy middle I love. 🤍

Before the color, clay, texture and tiny details...
There's this, measuring, bending, taping, adjusting, changing my mind, and slowly watching the composition come together.

This stage may not look glamorous, but it's where the piece starts to find its rythym.

What started as one idea has slowly grown into a collection - each piece with its own movement, personality and little details, but all connected by the same love of botanicals, texture and handmade design.

I've loved watching this series evolve piece by piece...and I'm definitely not done yet. 🤍

This past year has felt like a dark place.
Quietly, heavily, I’ve been carrying the weight of my husband’s cancer scare and holding my breath, hoping and praying for good news.
Now that good news has finally come, I can say with so much gratitude… he is cancer free. 🤍
Looking back, I realize so many of the botanical pieces I’ve created — the blooming flowers, the movement, the life in them — were speaking for me before I even had the words. It feels like my subconscious was trying to lift me out of that darkness, reminding me that even in the hardest seasons, there is still growth, beauty, and hope.
These blooms now feel like more than art.
They feel like healing.
Like exhaling.
Like new life.
