Why don’t we start a sewing group where we focus on sewing clothes?

Perhaps start with a Jasika Blazer from
Closet Core? They have a great support video so we could sew both at home and help and support eachother here when we met.

Or sew a summer dress for Frocktails?

We could bring in teachers as we felt the need.

Let me know. I’m thinking once a month in the studio.

Our Design Your Own Jacket class has officially ended, although we are all still finishing up. Three participants even wove their own fabric!

A big shout out to Celia Lehr who was our instructor. This class was the result of her life experience designing and sewing with Handwoven fabrics.

A chesterfield full of finished pillows! Thanks Alison for getting the David lll loom operational and for using her interior design knowledge for this project.

The sewing was fun and I was stoked I could use my antique Singer sewing machines.

A big thank you to Meredith and Mia for helping to harvest our Japanese Indigo crop this year.

We also overdyed Goldenrod with Indigo and got some unusual greens. All grown on the farm.

Our colours were on the lighter side—I believe I was overly ambitious in the amount of fibre in the dye pot!!!

Always something to learn, again.

Raw Haunui fleece has arrived! 16 fairly fine fleeces (19-23 microns), many hoggets of all different colours.

Oh! The natural colours make my heart sing—and the lustre—who said fine fleeces don’t have lustre?

We are taking a break from our Sweater Group this winter. If anyone has a burning question they are welcome to come to the studio—give me a call or Email! We are here and have many pounds of washed fleece.
