My mom likes to share a story about me from when I was a wee little girl.
At around 3 years old, I went to the park with my mom, brother and grandfather.  Back in the day, we didn't have those fancy play structures that our kids now enjoy - we're talking basic metal slide, swings and merri-go-round.
My brother and I decided we wanted to climb up the slide.  He tried a couple of times, didn't quite make it, then got bored and moved on to another task. I, on the other hand, was one determined little girl. I tried time and time again, and refused to give up until I made it. My grandfather witnessed this and told my mom, "she will succeed in life - that one loves a challenge".
From a young age, I seemed to know what I wanted and I would go for it relentlessly until I got it.  I stole a large baguette from the kitchen table and ran around the house eating it so that no one else could.  I literally grabbed a chocolate easter bunny that was twice my size off the store shelves after my parents told me they wouldn't buy it, ripped the box open as I was running away from them and started eating it while heading out the store.  I am glad I didn't turn out to become an overweight cleptomaniac but rather a go-getter who perseveres until I achieve my goals.
Here’s to going after what you want!

How important is your front entrance to you?

I'm 1 week away from getting a new runner for my staircase, so I'm all about the front entrance now. This one by Tara Kantor Interiors is so fresh and full of fun textures and shapes. I also like the modern take on wall paneling by going a large square grid.
I was planning on furnishing my living room next, but I'm thinking of switching gears and focusing on the front entrance first, as it can make such an impact! Should I?
