I could make a VERY long list of things that don’t need to be living on your kitchen counters 😂

But let’s start with these 3️⃣

I recently chatted with Simply Recipes about three things I don’t recommend keeping on your kitchen counter, and there’s actually a reason behind each one.

And no, this is NOT me telling you your counters need to be completely empty. Mine aren’t either. But counter space is valuable, so I’m a big fan of being picky about what gets to live there permanently.

If opening your tupperware cupboard feels like you’re risking an avalanche, we need to fix that 😂
And no, the solution isn’t going out and replacing all your containers with a matching set.

Start by pulling EVERYTHING out (this step is non-negotiable). While you’re at it, track down any errant containers that have made their way into other areas of your kitchen 😂

✨ Match up your containers and lids
✨ Anything cracked, warped or missing its other half can go
✨ Be realistic about how many containers you ACTUALLY need and use
✨ Nest similar shapes and sizes together
✨ Keep those lids contained so you’re not digging through a giant pile every time you need one

You don’t need matching containers or a bunch of new organizing products. You just need to be able to SEE what you have and easily grab what you need.

Remind yourself that the goal isnt perfection, it’s being able to grab a container AND its lid without half the cupboard coming with it 🙌🏻

And now I need to know: are you Team lids ON the containers or Team lids stored SEPARATELY? 👇🏻

Is it just me or have we already settled the shoes vs no shoes in the house thing?! I will say that despite being Canadian, and it being pretty much engrained in my dna to remove my shoes upon entering someone’s home, I have plenty of American friends and family who do not share the same stance on this topic and it doesn’t make me love them any less 😜
