What's in your gutters?

This bucket might not look like much, but it's holding about a bundle of shingle granules — probably weighing 50+ pounds!

That extra weight sitting in your gutter system isn't doing it any favors. Add heavy rainwater to the mix, and it can easily lead to sagging gutters, damaged fasteners, or even sections pulling away from the house.

One thing I do differently: whenever I'm on a roof performing work, I provide a free roof inspection. Today I found a section of ridge cap missing that could lead to bigger problems if left unattended. I'll be back tomorrow to make the repair.

Many homeowners hear the terms pressure washing and soft washing, but there is actually a third option that very few companies offer.

💦 PRESSURE WASHING • Typically uses 1,500-4,000+ PSI • Uses 2-8+ gallons of water per minute • Relies on pressure to remove dirt and grime • Can potentially damage surfaces or force water where it shouldn't go if not done properly

🧪 SOFT WASHING • Lower pressure than pressure washing • Often uses similar water volumes, creating a "flooding" effect rather than a blasting effect • Relies heavily on chemical solutions to kill and remove algae, mold, and mildew • The chemicals do most of the cleaning while the water rinses everything away
